They won't defend it so much as equivocate by bringing up the Klan or the Crusaders.

This is not woe is me we are victims but where I live it's a reality that those who attend church are looked at with skepticism so to Cypress' point of go in to the office tomorrow and say something anti Muslim well people are willing to do that to Christianity in our 'tolerant' Bay Area.

Do you think that is an attack on Christianity, your attending church? I'm just trying to get an insight into this. I have had relatives who didn't like when I practiced Catholicism, but those were other Christians not liking my brand. My co workers were usually trying to convert you if the subject ever came up. Several were disciplined after being warned about their proselytizing, only had private discussions lately about religion. People usually avoid the subject in public.

My brother attacks Catholicism, he was raised in the faith, but says he has found the truth and most churches don't teach it, they are the whores of Babylon. He would also criticize your Christianity. You could have some great discussions with him. He also rails on Islam and corporations, don't know which he believes is the greater evil. He's a real fun guy. He has loosened up, this last visit he drank a beer with me.

Or, it may just be that it's narrow-minded to paint an entire religion with the actions of a small few.

And we've seen what has happened in history when people do that. Hint: you & this thread are not on the side of the good guys.

It's more just an anti-religion vibe. Christianity obviously being the biggest. I go to church but I don't spend much time talking about religion or having religious debates/discussions. But it's more the periodic anti-religious comments that you hear. It's not a regular thing by any means but having lived and worked here for so long it's something you become aware of.

lets be honest......based on what they say about God and what Christianity says about God it is impossible claim its the same God.....granted, both refer to the God of Abraham, but they do not worship the deity that Christianity worships.....to claim they do is nothing but a lie.......
