Syrian airbase still in use after strike from impotent POTUS

Putin, Assad and Trump probably pre-arranged it so that the only planes on the base during the attack were old, inoperable junk.

Probably had their actual current Air Force fighters stashed safely away somewhere else prior to Putin giving Trump the go ahead for their fake, propaganda publicity stunt.

:legion:

Russia knew it was coming and so did Syria. They pulled their good jets out into the grass where we passed over them. Anything that was left to burn was probably inoperable, at the moment or permanently. Why else would they leave them there to burn?
we used a middle east hotline to inform the Russians there - but not Moscow.
( and now Putin has torn up an order to work with us to de-conflict in Syria from now on).

There was 1/2 dozen jets they saved -I don't know which class.
I do know that airbase is no longer functional -runways or not- it cannot support aircraft

This airstrike was carefully staged and managed by Vlad so that nothing really changed militarily and his orange puppet could regain some political capital.
It has worked brilliantly.

.. and Assad's chemical weapons moved to safe storage.

This was a dog and pony show.

WTF?

59 missiles and they didn't even make it non-operational?

ABC NEWS/
the missiles targeted aircraft, hardened aircraft shelters, petroleum and logistical storage, ammunition supply bunkers, air defense systems and radars.
approximately 20 aircraft destroyed, nor was there any indication that Syria had detected incoming missiles before they struck.

A hole in the tarmac and be fixed in 4 or 5 hours, why other
with the runway....fool...

Victory Is the Only Rule of Engagement

The specific purpose of the strike was to deter Assad from dumping more chemical gas, not to start WW3. They avoided the air strips because they could be easily and quickly replaced. They strategically spent the missiles and went for some shelters and buildings at the air base.
Napalm is a chemical gas; it saved my life many times. Force our rulers' spoiled-putrid brats to go into combat and pass the truth on their captive media, and we won't have such ignorant and touchy-feely opinions about what it takes to fight a war. We won't live free until the Fortunate Sons live in fear. Chickenhawks and Chickendoves can take the air-conditioned ethics of the Geneva Convention and go live in a vacuum.

$59 million and they accomplish nothing.

Idiot.

He enforced the red line and got the worlds attention. They do not know what the hell to think this guy might do next. That is a good thing.

They know he's not going to get mired down in a Syrian civil war. So, it was pretty meaningless.

Just like his "secret plan" to defeat ISIS. Where the hell is that?

Are you sure about that? I am not. Assad does this again, who knows what he might do.

The Art of the Deal

Care to come up with any more lame excuses for Drumpf's impotent airstrike.

If was all just theatrics with no practical effect, what the fuck did your Orange Clown do it for?

What's wrong with a fake enforcement of the pacifists' rules of war? I only wish it was true, that Trump is messing with the minds of the Saudi-bribed Russophobe Grim Weepers. Then, as an honored Putin-hater, he'll be allowed to make the deals we need with Russia:

We'll lift the sanctions and get out of imperialist, Fuzzy on Muzzy NYETO if:

Putin breaks off relations with Iran and the Paleonasties. Since Putin doesn't smoke, he'll have no need of Iran, which Trump will turn into an ashtray.

If it's up to him, he's not going to do anything.

However, the Syrians might.

We might be one bullet in an American soldiers head away from another quagmire of war and death.

It's something I have a vested interest in because I have a daughter in the military. The LAST thing I want to happen is another needless war with a clown as 'commander-in-chief' and my daughter under its command.

I remember that BAC. Hope she is doing very well. You and your wife raised a good family.

I wish her well, as always. My nephew is in South Korea right now. I wish he was back teaching.

Think of all the experience your nephew is gaining Queen. If he goes back to teaching after, what an even better teacher he will make. He sounds like an outstanding person.

He is a Ranger, seen many tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He's a good man, thank you. He was teaching at West Point before his present deployment. I wish him back there.

all you need to run an airstrip is a long stretch of open ground. Whats important is the equipment destroyed.
