Looks like Gorsuch will be confirmed

I read your other post .. couldn't disagree with you more.

You failed to mention that republicans started this. Now it's war. What do you expect democrats to do .. just sit there and take it without responding?

I believe this is great for the country because it exposes the warts, it exposes that America is not the country it pretends to be.

Republicans spent 8 years trashing Obamacare only to have that blow up in their faces. Perhaps the republican constituency will now rethink, or think for the first time about what the real responsibility of government is. Obviously many are already thinking differently about healthcare. Independents are most certainly thinking about it.

It's great for the nation because it draws America's inherent racism out into the light, where it can be challenged more effectively. No more pretense that it doesn't exist or that its some minor issue.

It's great for the country because we no longer have to listen to the idiocy that government should be run by non-politicians .. remarkably ignorant concept. No one need listen to that bullshit ever again.

It's great for the country because republicans are getting a taste of their own medicine .. and they don't like it. Maybe they'll consider that the next time a democrat is in office.

It's great for the country because I want Trump to try any and every knuckleheaded RW idea, concept, and thought about how to run government .. where he will fail.

I could go on .. but I'm tickled pink :0) about where this nation stands today. We deserve every moment of a clown like Donald Trump .. an embarrassing testament to the fickle nature of the American people and the idiotic thinking of those who elected him.

To your Republican's started this what did Republicans do to a Democratic nominee prior to Bork?

How do you arrive at that conclusion from what he wrote?

I'm just curious how that limited intellectual capacity of yours works.

He voiced an opinion that he felt Gorsuch is not as conservative and this implies that he would vote more in line with the liberal SCOTUS members; or else why would he have mentioned it.

I'm not just talking about an SC pick .. I'm talking about republican behavior throughout Obama's years.

I've said from the moment Trump 'won' that what Obama faced will be a cake walk compared to what Trump and his skank wife are going to face.

'Bed Made by the Republican Party'

Nothing about what he wrote implied that he'd have no objection whatsoever to his decisions. I doubt he'd even say that about Ginsburg.

It's really strange that you somehow arrived at that conclusion. Way to extreme for what he wrote, and not implied at all.

Well; we'll just have to wait and see then, won't we.

:evilnod:

there is no guarantees that the filibuster wont be nuked in the future. its benefit to you is that the president is not sure it will be done by the senate so it always remains a ?. Once done its gone forever and can be removed from future pick calculations.

'Bed Made by the Republican Party'

Miguel Estrada.

'Bed Made Democratic Party'

Miguel Estrada.

'Bed Made Democratic Party'

I heard that the first time you said it brother .. but thought, 'he can't be serious.'

Estrada was never a nominee for the Supreme Court .. he was a nominee for the Court of Appeals .. and if we're going to joust about which side started opposition to all court appointments, that could take forever and wouldn't produce anything conclusive.

Does the fact that judicial appointments under the republican held Senate during Obama's years was less than half of what it was under a democratic held Senate during George Bush's years count?

What makes this republican bed different than any democratic bed is that democrats have never refused to hear a republican nominee for the SC. Even if they opposed that nominee, they allowed that nominee to come to a confirmation vote. That was not the case with Garland, and it shouldn't be the case with Gorsuch.

If republicans want him .. use the nuclear option and we'll never have to have this conversation again.

and next time don't refrain from allowing judges to be appointed by a black president like they did Obama

court cases were piling up all over the country because the republicans REFUSED to allow our first black president to appoint judges

the dems NEVER allowed that to happen to a republican president

they NEVER ALLOWED IT TO A SUPREME COURT JUSTICE

does the republicans still use 51 for a lower court appointee?

That's why it's obvious dims are being unreasonable about Gorsuch.

They are upset at the way Garland was treated, and I understand that, but responding in kind is not whats best for America, be better than them, not the same.

Isn't it a damned shame that since the GOP sabotaged Robert Bork the democrat party has bent over backwards to approve 100% of republican nominees and the GOP just keeps being assholes.

You must be very proud to be a member of a party that is so morally and ethically sound and always puts the country first. Good for you
