Thousands Of Americans Are Fleeing The Big Cities

let's not sugar coat why people are leaving big cities.
Crime, and high cost of any housing that a human being would habitate, traffic.
The big cities have always been the bulls eye of drugs and the crime associated with it, but these things have risen to ces pool levels over the last decade.

And most of these cities are run by liberal politicians with access to the legislation and purse strings that could fix this, yet they choose not to.
The left wing of our politics lives off of the poverty and divisive cries that racism is the culprit.
People trying to have a better life, people of all colors are running away.
Except they're not leaving the cities. They're leaving rural areas and not only that it's the best and the brightest young people who are leaving rural area for greater economic opportunities in urban areas.

cheap. Maryland was fine until the Dems went nuts with rain taxes and commode taxes (flush tax).

and in florida at least there is no snow and ice

I've calculated what my tax would be in Maryland vs. Mississippi; the total came out to maybe a couple of percentage points. You're an idiot if you give any shrift to state taxes at all in choosing where to live, they're peanuts compared to the salaries you can get in blue states versus the bleak and meaningless existence in red states.

Except that's not the case. Across the board in the last five years we've seen significant urban growth, little growth in the suburbs and exurbs and declining population in rural, small town locations.

That's based on US Census data and not Infowars.

If that's the case how do we have gentrification in cities?

afluent people buy property in older, poorer neighborhoods and invest in them. What does this have to do with the issue? Look at the astronomical cost of housing and gentrification in Frisco...has the population there declined?

I said a big reason people leave cities is because they are priced out. Because net numbers may increase doesn't mean people don't leave cities. It's no different than we may have positive job growth in a month but jobs are still lost during that time.

Why are so many people suddenly moving away from major U.S. cities? Recently, I wrote about the mass exodus that is happening out of the state of California, but the truth is that what is happening there is just part of a national phenomenon.

The populations of some of our largest cities are steadily shrinking, and many experts are completely mystified by the seismic demographic shifts that we are now witnessing. Of course there are a whole host of reasons why people would want to move away from huge cities such as Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore and Cleveland. For some families, it simply comes down to wanting a better life for their children. But as you will see below, there are others that believe that things in this country are about to take an apocalyptic turn, and the big cities will not be a place that you want to be when economic collapse, rioting, looting, civil unrest and crime are all spiraling out of control.

According to data just released by the U.S. Census Bureau, Chicago took the prize for the biggest population loss from 2015 to 2016, and it was followed by Detroit and Baltimore…

It's obvious isn't it? Liberal Utopia is actually a fucking nightmare.

infowars.com?? Surely you jest.

For people with an IQ over 90, and an education over 8th grade, the most important thing is quality of life, which includes culture, higher education, entertainment, economic opportunities, and other intangibles.

Cow-tipping and one dollar budweisers at the bowling alley may have its charms for your average Trumptard. But I really have a hard time believing people are fleeing Austin Texas and Seattle Washington for the charms of Hazard County, Georgia.

If you're boring and a coward.

I'm going to revise my statement, thanks to Comrade Watermarx here:

The suburbs are the ONLY place to be; the only place worth living. Urban centres are great for the nightlife and gawking. Rural places are great for day trips and speeding. Secluded places are great for sightseeing, offroading, and camping. But, who really wants to live in those fucking places? You, Lieutenant Weinberg?

Yeah, I'm not trading my craft beer and single-malt scotch for Budweiser and Southern Comfort, or my split-level home for a mobile one. :D
Florida beaches are the finest in the world -so called "sugar sand"..It's like swimming in a warm pool and no rocks.
The sharks usually won't do more then take a chunk of meat from you

Well that happens all the time in all cities for a variety of reasons. That doesn't change the fact that the OP is factually wrong.

I would be careful about marginalizing rural and small town life. They have their perks too. Such as less stress, community involvement, less crime, pollution, slower pace of life, out door activities, etc.

I've lived in all three and found them congenial with each having its pros and cons. In suburban life one of the major cons is that community and social life blows chunks.

unless Miami has changed radically in the last dozen years on the whole it's one of the ugliest cities I've visited. Sure it has some very nice areas but the majority of the city is ugly as hell.

Now the women are a different story. Miami has the highest concentration of drop dead beautiful women of any place I've ever visited.

the metro area in total is beautiful.. I worked in Coconut Grove for 3 years when I first moved here - i drove down 2x a week for paperwork and meetings. On the other hand slums (Liberty city etc.) are just that. I'm too old ( i haven't drank in decades) to appreciate south beach bars - but the art deco is fabulous!

I didn't read the OP because it's infowars. It is factually correct that many are leaving cities as the article I posted on SF shows as well as we know certain cities have been losing population.

I see the opposite, the sad gentrification of large portions of inner cities without any regard to culture and character or the ability of the inhabitants to afford the new normal.

Oh well, just go with the racist white flight angle of trolling.

San Francisco has the smallest number of children of any big city in America. People with families do flee here because of the cost of housing and you're not guaranteed good public schools.

We always get into racial divisions in this country but Cypress' post shows class divisions. I hear what he said all the time living here. SF has huge economic inequality yet it's easy for us to thumb our nose at anyone who isn't as "sophisticated".

it is nice but once you get away from Coconut grove, South Beach and the Art Deco district most of the rest of Miami is ugly as hell. Concrete and sand.

well it's a big city. Florida isn't know for it's culture. it's too new , too geared to turistas to support it..

On the other hand if I had to move back to culturally rich/urban blight Baltimore.....well W.C. Fields said something regarding Philly..
