I love Cuba, the people are very happy and safe and well educated. They have many freedoms and enjoy a racial equality we could only wish for. I don't think its perfect and if I were from Cuba I would be advocating for some changes. I believe in a balance with regards to economic controls from the Government. I believe in a state controlled health, educational, and energy system... with some modified elements of market power. In most other areas I prefer that we allow the free market to control to a point then we need the government to make sure it does not get so big or powerful that it corrupts the ability for competition to survive. That is to say, I believe Cuba has gone too far in some areas. That is really for them however and their system seems to be working very well. I would not chose to live there as it is culturally not my style. I prefer the culture and lifestyle of the Scandinavian Socialist nations.
I am unlikely to ever permanently move anywhere, my roots and family and career are all here.
