Director of the FBI calls Rump out on lies!

This articles gives a run down on the sources. The BBC is the only credible source that has reported that a FISA warrant was issued.

Only one article, with British roots, reported that a FISA court order was granted in October to examine possible activity between two Russian banks and a computer server in the Trump Tower. This claim has not been confirmed by U.S. news organizations. Moreover, no article says that Obama requested the order or that it resulted in the tapping of Trump’s phone lines. The server, in fact, may not have even been in Trump Tower.

(Our colleague Ellen Nakashima reported how difficult it is to obtain a wiretap of a U.S. citizen as part of a foreign intelligence investigation.)

Moreover, the articles do not support the White House’s claim that these were “potentially politically motivated investigations” led by Obama. The articles all suggest that the FISA requests — if they happened — were done by the intelligence agencies and the FBI. The BBC says the investigation was prompted by a tip from a Baltic country about possible criminal activity:

Comey might be giving them rope. I can't believe TrumpCo wants a thorough investigation of what supported those FISA warrants, if they were issued.

That is not what you claimed, oh, and btw "Wired" is about a quarter point better than "Heatstreet".

No way. Wired is way better and their source is the BBC. You telling me the BBC is equal to Heatstreet! You are starting to sound like Trump.

However, that is the only reliable source. They could be wrong.

I would love it if they did :) I believe that FISA judges are like appelate court judges. Just go to the right place and you will find one that agrees with you.

I am sure that you and Alex Jones believe that, but those close to it don't seem to agree.

So, if a judge that was very likely appointed by Roberts thought there was evidence to support a warrant do you really want to bring what supported that to light? I do!

well when i mention the first part aka the request has been made that one is coming from bbc and nyt :) I dont find them particularly credible but apparantly you do :)

Clearly, you only find creditability in self affirming things. So you go to "heatstreet" when you are wrong.

When you say "the FISA warrent" what do you mean. Many FISA warrants have been issued over the years, the BBC does not say that the warrant they are talking about authorized OBAMA to wiretap Trump.

i would too :)

So, Tsuke, lets just pretend that it comes out that Trump has deep financial interests in Russia (despite his denials) and that Putin's government coordinated with Trump's campaign about say, the timing of the release of the stolen emails....

Would you be unhappy with that, or would you defend Rump by asking whats wrong with it?

I am not sure what you are drawing a distinction on here.

According to the BBC, there is no indication that Obama played a direct role but I think it's safe to assume he would have known about it. It would not have targeted Trump directly but the BBC claimed they were looking for connections between the campaign and the Russian banks. The banks would have been the target.

It certainly does not support the full narrative of the Trumputin hacks tsuke and grind. And like I said, who knows if the BBC is right about this at all. The BBC is credible but not infallible.

WSJ - Washington Goes Nuts

The political brawl over Russia, the Trump campaign and U.S. intelligence has reached the point where basic questions about U.S. institutions and trust in government are at stake. Democrats are trying to capitalize on anonymous leaks based on U.S. intelligence collection to destroy the Trump Presidency, and the President is responding with a fusillade of unproven accusations. To adapt Benjamin Franklin ’s comment about the Constitution, you have a banana republic, if you can keep it.

Pardon the gallows humor, but what a spectacle. Democratic leaders and the media wildly overreacted to last week’s news, based on a leak, that Attorney General Jeff Sessions met with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S. in the not-so-secret lair of his Senate office. Resign. Special prosecutor. Watergate.

Then the President, with his familiar self-restraint, replied with a Saturday morning Twitter barrage alleging that former President “ Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism !” Mr. Trump offered no evidence for his claims, which may have been based on a report by a radio talk-show host.

The political upshot is that, in this supposedly mature democracy, the current President is accusing his predecessor of trying to subvert his victory, while the former President’s party accuses Mr. Trump of colluding with the enemy in the Kremlin. Forget “Wag the Dog” or “The Manchurian Candidate.” Hollywood couldn’t make this up.

What the country desperately needs are some grown-ups to intervene," discover the facts, and then lay them out to the American people. This should include contacts between the Russians and the Trump campaign as well as any efforts during the Obama Administration to monitor Trump advisers.

"we need grown ups to intervene"..exactly. It's to the point I don't believe anything about anyone -everybody is playing their own interests off, regardless of the consequences, inaccucries.wording

I am sooo confused...I miss a news cycle and it's like I've been in the political desert for 40 years.

There was very good reason for Justice to investigate Mannafort, to say the least.
