The FAKE media continues the fake narrative that suddenly, after their Fascist in Chief for 8 years had left and they were unsuccessful in trying to elect another dishonest, sociopathic lying Democrat to the Executive, they're concerned about the Exec having too much power.
Obama, in a historic SOTU boldly stated that IF, the Republican congress did not go along with his Fascist ideas and views of AmeriKa, he would ACT without them.

This is a false claim; the Trump Presidency is in it's infancy with only 40 days in office so it is absurd to declare that his Presidency is anything but "new."
Secondly; how is a Republican majority in the House and the Senate considered to be weak? Another absurd claim that suggests that the Democrats can stop anything the Republicans want now that they control just about EVERYTHING.
Then, the Times goes into fantasy land with this absurd and stupid claim:
The United States is a divided nation: There is Redland, where Donald Trump won among exurban non-college educated whites, and Blueland, home to diverse city and coastal cosmopolitans, where Hillary Clinton triumphed. Voters in these two lands have fundamentally different views about what it means to be an American, and they increasingly view their fellow citizens as enemies.
Translation; people who vote "red" are dumb and uneducated. You know, those deplorable's Hillary talked about and the bitter clingers to guns Obama raged about?
But let us be very clear; the derisive divisions that plague the nation were the direct result of the semi-black President the media defended and derived all their false narratives from. A President whose speeches contained more "I's" and "me's" than any of his predecessors and a President who didn't care about what the opposition thought and demanded all bend over for his agenda regardless of the FACT that he was losing elections for his party.
Obama's unique form of myopia and elitist arrogance is what drove this nation apart. Not Donald Trump.
The FALSE narratives promoted by a media no longer interested in honest journalism or reporting the news, but rather, an agenda based media willing to create FAKE news intended to hurt anyone who doesn't abide by their Liberal Progressive agenda.
Our political system, which requires compromise and collaboration, is not set up to handle such profound differences. Worse, our current political rules are exacerbating and reinforcing them.
This profound journalistic hypocrisy requires all who read it to forget the last eight years. The media cheered Obama's illegal executive orders in defiance of Congressional legislation and cheered when Democrats in the majority forced through Obama care without ONE single Republican vote without bi-partisan agreement or compromise.
In such a climate, when one party controls the House, the Senate and the presidency, Congress becomes the direct enabler of presidential power. It ducks its oversight responsibilities because the party brand and how its members will fare in the next election are tied to the president’s popularity. A current example: the hemming and hawing among Republicans about investigating Trump’s ties with Russia.
Where does one start with the journalistic hypocrisy above? Since 2010 when republicans won back the house, the media went into full BS mode declaring Republicans the "do-nothing" congress. Yes folks, when THEIR messiah Obama was the executive, the decried any efforts to slow down or stop his agenda. Now, suddenly with Trump in charge for a mere 30 days, they demand that Congress prevent Trump from having too much power.
As for the claim that they should investigate Trump's ties to Russia, it begs the question of why anyone in the media would continue this FALSE narrative given the FACT that the Russians did not have anything to do with the outcome of the election, nor has there EVER been any FACT to suggest that Trump colluded with them in any way.
California’s move to lessen the influence of party politics on redistricting and its embrace of an open “top two” primary system are green shoots. An even more encouraging reform came out of Maine, when the state’s voters approved “ranked choice” voting in November.
It is ironic that the author chose to use California as an example. In California, after such presumed "reforms" were passed, the Democrats now have a super majority and control EVERYTHING....which is why the State is regressing and beginning to wallow in a sea of red ink thanks to agenda based things like Obamacare and turning the state into an criminal sanctuary for illegal aliens.
Until we contend with the ways our electoral systems and institutional arrangements undermine our good intentions, that isn’t likely to change. The American experiment requires cooperation and compromise among different factions. Either we update the way we conduct politics, or our democracy may not survive.
