When one is an elected and officially sworn in representative of the US Govt, obviously meeting with foreign officials is not only a good thing, it's absolutely necessary. Any child could figure that out, so congratulations on having achieved the same level of comprehension as a child.

OTOH... when you are an UNELECTED member of a campaign team meeting with officials and/or agents of one particular country's govt who are actively engaged in trying to promote your candidate over his opponent by meddling in the election, once again, even a child could see how that raises questions that need to be thoroughly investigated.

They conspired to sway the SWING VOTE, Captain Dumbfuck.

Any idiot knows that solid blue and red states are not going to be influenced enough to alter the voting outcome in those states. But in states that could go either way, like Florida and Ohio, for EXAMPLE, a few thousand votes one way or the other could tip the election.

Leaking all that negative email bullshit about Clinton while totally ignoring Trump's mountain of rotten garbage, makes it pretty clearly and plainly obvious which campaign they were attempting to help and which one they were attempting to sabotage.

So Hillary won the popular vote by a huge margin in SOLID BLUE STATES while Trump won convincingly in SOLID RED STATES. It was a microscopic handful of votes in states like WI, MI & PA, as well as FL, that handed Comrade Trumpsky the election and you'd have to be a world class DUNCE to believe the Russian email leak campaign had nothing to do with that.

Because I gotta tell ya, despite Assange's claims I found the emails to be pretty much a dud.

Additionally, I seem to recall JPP lefties during the election not being phased by those emails. I don't recall one single post by a JPP leftie saying "these emails could cost Hillary the election in swing states"

But maybe you did and I just didn't see it

There was nothing in them that by itself, should have been damning. But the fake-ass controversy created by the Repgnants and hand carried by the media because it was good for ratings, coupled with the steady and relentless drip of weekly releases, created an air of negativity where none should have existed.

Don't try to play stupid like you have no understanding of how public opinion and the manipulation of it works.

As for Comey.... who knows? Maybe it was just personal vendetta. He was part of Kenneth Starr's Whitewater team and likely felt that the Clinton's outsmarted them, so it was payback time. Plus he's a Republican, which almost always = underhanded and politically ruthless.

He couldn't have really been stupid enough to do what he did without knowing the consequences.

So your thesis is that Russia wanted Trump to win and "hacked" Podestas emails. Then they gave those emails to Julian Assange to release through the course of the campaign but they only really had an impact on a few thousand voters and Hillary still won the popular vote by 3 million
