There are other ways to be compassionate and help others than by a nationalized system of healthcare. Simply paying in doesn't make you compassionate.

It's not a mandate it's a tax but paying taxes are mandatory so therefore ACA is a mandate. My main point is that granting our federal government the authority to provide medical care for all citizens is not a power granted in the constitution and therefore should be done through the amendment process.

I'm not going to go into detail all of the things that I do to help others since that would be inappropriate but my point is that granting or denying additional powers to a central federal government is not an indication of your level of compassion.

I don't share the contempt you have for people that have the opposite point of view than I have since they are free to have their own vision for our country too, but I will say that I think too many Americans have too much trust in federal bureaucracy.

Are you majoring in constitutional law? If so, you must be in your first year .. but I doubt that's your major.

Obamacare IS constitutional, popular with the American people, and undoubtedly benefits the overall health of the nation.

But in your novice perception of the world, none of that matters. Duly noted .. you don't have a real argument that makes any sense.

No I'm not majoring in constitutional law, nowhere close actually, agribusiness/livestock management, but I enjoy talking about the constitution and have a ton of respect for the writers of it whom I believe we ignore too much. It's ruled constitutional because of its title as a tax. By that type of governing anything can be implemented as long as it's made mandatory as a tax. That's not what our constitution is about and that's not how our system should be governing in my opinion. I consider myself to be more conservative libertarian than I do traditional republican but yes I lean republican over democrat or progressive.

It was a joke, not a very good one I grant you. I would contend that one of the many reasons why the US is far too sensitive and up their arses about race is due to a severe humour bypass.
