OK, nationalist?

You Conservatives were too uncomfortable discussing White Nationalism, I can certantly understand why... so lets discuss simple Nationalism, or as some call it....


"Economic Nationalism."

A nationalist presents many of the same problems. A nationalist is a person who does not believe in world wide Capitalism, he believes in capitalism but only within the borders of his own nation. If I want to buy a product, I want the best product available for the money. If I want a car and Germany builds a superior product for less money, I should buy a German car, but a Nationalist wants to put a road block to that possibility and protect the American car maker who produces an inferior product for more money. The nationalist government acts as a market manipulator to ensure that the more expensive and inferior product is equalized with the superior cheaper product.

Is my definition wrong? Do you agree or disagree?

Thoughts?
 
I thought you guys were so desperate to talk about Economic Nationalism instead of White Nationalism... so I started this thread...

I'll break it down for you Jerod. Every country on earth is Nationalistic. Perhaps with a few European exceptions, and the US.

Why? Because these countries are infected with self hating guilting egalitarian liberals who feel so guilty for let's say slavery, that they must attone by tearing their own countries apart.

But other than the US, every country puts its own people and its self first, then tries to negotiate and help others. We Should be doing this too. Instead we waste time debating transgender bathrooms, and safe spaces on college campuses, thanks to the insane left!

Do you have a cite for your claim about every other country?

Its not about self hate, its about seeing the big picture and realizing its whats best for EVERYONE. One human race. We, Americans will be better off without nationalism. When you meddle with the silent hand of economic fortune it harms everyone.

If, as you claim, America is harmed by not being nationalistic, why are we the most prosperous nation in the world? Why are we the Untied States, and parts of Europe so much better off economically than the majority of the rest of the world? Its not about self hate, its about self LOVE and LOVE of others.
 
Nationalism, is often and purposely conflated with white nationalism by the left.

Nationalism in Trumpian terms, essentially means America first. Immigration policy: safety of Americans first and respect for rule of law.

Economic policy: doing away with trade policies that don't put US interests first.

Then its not nationalism...

"America first" in the way Rump describes it is not in the economic or safety interests of America.

An 'economic nationalist'....would imply someone that wants economic independence for their country...is that a bad thing ?

So is it your contention that its bad to control your own economy, labor, and capital formation

Would you rather our economy, labor and capital is controlled by another country...?

Is it wrong to impose some restrictions on how our own economy develops....?

What do you think the purpose of the Federal Reserve System is and the reason it was created is 1913....?

The US and Europe are better off precisely because of nationalism. Europe was able to pillage the rest of the world for 3-4 centuries precisely because of nationalism. They put their interests first over the others.

There seems to be a misconception that nationalism equals to isolationism by idiots on the left. Take free trade during the reagan era. Was that nationalist? Yes. Why? Because no other manufacturing center had the capability of producing what we could mostly because their economies were all destroyed by ww2. That has changed therefore it no longer is nationalist to support free trade. Just like the period of european colonization this has allowed us to concentrate wealth in the US by extracting it every where else.

Nationalism first and foremost is doing everything to benefit the American people first as other countries will do everything they can to benefit their people first.
