Plenty of people have either been to college (2 or 4+ years), or spent enough time in their 20s around university districts/college towns that they are familiar with the fanaticism and brainwashing of the academy and its students.

And your point? Plenty more people are apolitical. They don't like or understand the hate and violence. Milos recent encounter with hate and violence on college campuses drew attention to the problem that could not be ignored.

Youd be wrong. I work with people, have family members who took notice, who don't usually engage in politics. That's my point, as to my comment about Milo. Any more hairs you need to split?

Have these people ever paid attention to riots and protests before? I mean, most major cities get traffic blocked by protestors at least once a year, and those incidents piss a lot of people off.
