I watch CNN, I have seen the total and complete move away from anything fair or balanced. FOX is definitely a conservative leaning network, but there are also hard news segments, and opinion shows, that fairly call Trump actions into question. CNN and their liberal cohorts are so spun out over Trump as to be insidiously obnoxious.
Liberals such as yourself need to hold these biases up to the light if you want voters such as myself to hold Trump to account. I feel the reportage is so unhinged, and so unbalanced, that I'm left with having to defend, instead of form meaningful critique.

If that's how you see it, I can relate to it. I don't see it as "unhinged." When you're reporting something as chaotic as Trump's 1st few weeks, the coverage is going to reflect the circumstances. But I get that opinions vary on that.
I don't see chaos in his first few weeks- I saw aggressive opposition that was determined to create chaos. It's this rabid kind of behavior that has voters desiring a leader whose pugnacious enough to stand against decorums that have proven to be mere empty suit eloquence, than real action on their behalf. Trump is authentic. He's a terrible orator, he obviously communicates incomplete thoughts that come off as overly light on substance (being kind here) but he's authentic in his agenda. Which truly is, in my opinion, pro American.
Did you know that Republicans are only one statehouse away from the ability to have a Constitututional Convention?
Seriously, all of Hollywood and the majority of media, have not been able to conquer middle Americas roots in desiring individualism and the right to think how they want, be left alone if they want, keep more of their hard earned money, and not be called names because they have their own ideas, beliefs, or attitudes.

The Democrat party have doubled down on what got them here- insanity. They need to cut off the nutters from their midst, demand the media stop their biased reporting - stop identity politicking, and reorganize around pro American inclusivity. Do this, and they could win back blue democrats and moderate independents.

My own opinion of the GOP takeover of America is that it's more a reaction to Obamacare, which is understandable. Even though most support Obamacare or something like it, it was a HUGE shift left. The country reacts to shifts like that. The GOP, imo, is sort of maxed out right now. I expect the pendulum to swing back now that Trump won & the GOP controls everything.
As to your last paragraph, I find the right to be just as disdainful and marginalizing of the coasts & other blue areas. I've lived on both coasts. It's not a bunch of chardonnay-sipping elitists who are "out of touch." Like everywhere, it's mostly working class people who appreciate independent living, as well. I see some of Trump's potential measures as being much more oppressive and freedom-restricting, personally.
GOP takeover? Really, the way the media and Hollywood carry on, I was under the idea that the attitude is the Left control what Americans really want.
Your opinion, in my opinion, is wishful thinking. The 2018 mid terms are just around the corner, and the best that democrats can hope for is to retain current seats. There are 8 of those seats up for grabs in states Trump won, 6 are in states he won with 60% plus majorities.
Its time for democrats to bring the pendulum back to sanity, not the republicans, and flush the hateful voices you've been supporting.

The layout in the Senate in '18 is very favorable for Republicans - they should pick up 5-7 seats, but I'm guessing it will be lower. There will be Trump backlash. Forget about the House. The Dems make big gains there.
Please don't talk about "hateful voices" after the past 8 years. It is absurd. We had the birther movement, led by the CURRENT PRESIDENT, which played to racism and xenophobia and tried every day to delegitimize Obama's Presidency. We had GOP leaders in Congress coming out and stating that obstruction was their goal. If that is "sanity" to you, you need to step back a bit. There was hate & irrationality for Obama, just like there is for Trump. I don't know why you guys think this is any different at all.
Trump's proposed travel ban WAS based on religion. That is oppressive to freedom, and in conflict w/ our constitution. AG Sessions is a threat to the will of the people on marijuana legalization. Trump has talked openly about more libel laws & other ways to restrict the press. Abortion rights are in danger. Yes, this admin could be MUCH more oppressive to freedom than what we've seen. Without a doubt.
