Gov Brown demands storm relief money from Trump. I say let California drown

The federal gov't doesn't pay our state pensions but it pays our S.S. and Medicare (or at least a large portion of Medicare). They're not just going to hand that money over to us if we leave.

We have hundreds of billions in unfunded liabilities. Yes we have a huge state economy but what's relevant is how much do we spend? Eventually these liabilities become due and as we see in places like San Jose and Oakland people pay more in taxes but receive less in services because of the pension payments.

Wrong! It's not because of pensions. It's because of decades of the rich and corporations not paying taxes.

Cawacky.....that's just not true. Pensions are not the problem, collecting revenue is.

When the gov't along with Calpers and Calsters promises returns it cannot achieve there is going to be a shortfall. That doesn't have anything to do with taxes businesses pay. And look at how much the rich pay in our state. The top 1% pay like 50% of the state taxes. That isn't a result of the rich not paying taxes.

Funny!

That's not what I claimed...maybe you can go back, re read the thread and get it right before I answer.

This what you claimed:
"According to the IRS, California sent DC $405 BILLION DOLLARS in 2015."

Where's the proof of what you claim the IRS stated?

Get back to me when you can provide it.

All we have to do is reform the tax laws so the rich and corporations pay taxes, and make it retroactive.

That will give us the revenue they stole from the middle class with their tax breaks/cuts, and bring them current on what they owe.

Instead of trying to find ways to take money from people, why don't you think if ways to generate revenue?

Why don't you think of ways to cut spending.

(laughing) "WalletHub reported recently that, based on its analysis, Alabama is the third-most dependent state on federal money. For every dollar Alabama pays in federal taxes, it receives the equivalent of $3.28, according to the report."

Welfare up the ass for you teat sucking rednecks, bitch.

Tell that to the 7th congressional district for Alabama. It's yet another one of the 63 nationwide were more than 1 in 5 get food stamps. In this case, the rate of usage is more than 1 in 4 at 25.1%. An interesting fact is that it's represented by a black Democrat and has a population where 61.7% is black. Another interesting fact is none of the other 6 districts reach that 1 in 5 mark and they're all red with majority white populations.

1st District Alabama - Represented by Republican Bradley Byrne 67.8% white Median Income of $44,535 and Mean Income of $61,791
2nd District Alabama - Represented by Republican Martha Roby 67% white Median Income of $42,395 and Mean Income of $59,717
3rd District Alabama - Represented by Republican Mike Rogers 64.9% white Median Income of $42,171 and Mean Income of $56,925
4th District Alabama - Represented by Republican Robert Aderholt 90% white Median Income of $39,608 and Mean Income of $55,278
5th District Alabama - Represented by Republican Mo Brooks 77.7% white Median Income of $51,531 and Mean Income of $70,981
6th District Alabama - Represented by Republican Gary Palmer 88.8% white Median Income of $61,524 and Mean Income of $82,784

7th District Alabama - Represented by Democrat Terri Sewell 61.7% black Median Income of $33,928 and Mean Income of $47,773

That 7th District is the ONLY one with a majority black population and the ONLY one that elected a Democrat and the ONLY one where more than 1 in 5, more than 1 in 4 to be exact, use food stamps. It has the lowest median and mean income of all seven districts. While I didn't check, I would say it also has the highest bastard birth rate and highest rate of single parent households.

Yup- they'll just leave. I'm for eliminating corp taxes. Simply to keep them here and supplying jobs.

Liberals have this idiotic idea - We'll take money from business and give it to people and we'll all be rich. HAHAHA
