but that stood out to me. I'm a centrist at heart, and Jim Webb would be a fine candidate for POTUS.
He said the Dems are out of touch with the working class. and that's why a lot went to Trump.
That was exactly my reasoning too as well as many "blue Dog" ( centrist) Dem's obviously

He would not dislcose how he voted -but he said no way would he ever have endorsed Hillary Clinton
and her big donors.

The big idea is the Dem's have become shrill Progressives with ideological far left idea and rhetoric.
I couldn't agree more. They offer nothing right now.

Clinton sent out a taunting tweet of “3-0” after the three-judge panel from the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously slapped a halt on Trump’s executive order on immigrants and *refugees.

Her support for the ruling isn’t surprising — Clinton said she was for open borders at one point — but the gutter sniping was telling. The activist judges who based their ruling on their liberal politics instead of the Constitution are the same kind she would appoint to the Supreme Court and all other federal courts if she were in the Oval Office.

And so it went in Week 3 of the Trump era, with Clinton’s taunt, the court ruling, nonstop demonstrations and congressional hijinks combining to illustrate why Trump’s election was crucial. It was a necessary course correction and a dramatic rejection of an arrogant government that both overreaches and underperforms.

Put another way, the hysterical, hateful reaction in many quarters to everything Trump says and does is absolute proof that the ruling elite deserved a comeuppance. The establishment was drunk on power, political and cultural, and never yielded an inch voluntarily or had the decency to admit error. Its rage reflects its sense of entitlement.

his unhinged rage is the new America — only it’s not new. It was hiding in plain sight, hinted at by the contempt that Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, tenured radicals, college snowflakes and the Democratic media openly held for those who don’t share their worldview.

Trump’s victory ripped open the vein, but it would have erupted at any Republican president. Modern liberals’ contempt for others is essential to their sense of superiority and justifies violence in the streets, threats and simple rudeness. Contempt for others lets mayors think they can disobey immigration laws and judges think there is no law but theirs.

What's ironic is that Trump's presidency is becoming the true change we can believe in. A change from presidential race hustling, a change from organized squatting and riots, a change from punitive policies like Obamacare fines and penalties, and certainly a change from green lighted illegal immigration policies.
 
True. Trump is such a regular guy. So in tune w/ the working class.

I mean, just look at his Cabinet. So folksy, so diverse - all kinds of income levels represented.

I would take an effective cabinet over a diverse one any day of the week. And I think I can speak for the working class on that.

Results will be all that matters. Count that as a prediction.

Yeah - I'll take one where people have actual experience outside of Fox News and Goldman Sachs. Oh, and it would be nice to have a Secretary of Education that knew something about education.

I attempted to do this as a Democrat, I quickly learned the power of pay-to-play political machines in an era where it takes either a billion dollars or a lot of luck on social media. Unilaterally intervening in Libya and instilling an inflammatory foreign policy concept known as humanitarian intervention, giving a president, any president, the power to unilaterally intervene anywhere, under the euphemistic rubric of responsibility to protect.

Responsibility of whom to protect whom? At whose risk and whose benefit? The answer is that in too many cases the masters of our foreign policy decisions are no different. Not only in foreign policy but in a large percentage of the issues that face the country.

Yeah he's a moderate like me. Which still makes him a communist to right wing ideologues. I know one thing for sure. Had Webb been President in 2003 there would have been no immoral war in Iraq as unlike Republicans he can be trusted on national defense.

Yes, he represents what sane educated people capable of critical thinking believe. If he represents to death of the Democratic Party then your beliefs represent the death of American egalitarian values.

I'm a lot more concerned he'll slip into traditional Republicanism then elitism.

He excoriates the powerful press-but he's also intent on curbing the regulatory state.
Unlike most of the pundits/press I'm aware of these dangers but I'm not going to support mindless Obstructionism

Oh spare me that partisan idiocy. Libya wasn't even remotely the immoral boondoggle that Iraq was. It didn't precipitate the needless deaths of tens of thousands of people nor did it create a power vacuum that destabilized an entire region of the planet and Clinton and other pussy Democrats have just as much blood on their hands as the right wing chicken hawks and their blind walking in lock step supporters that created that immoral disaster.
