Coup d'etat.

No, a president has a right to issue executive orders, and the Supreme Court can declare them constitutional or not... but the president should not disparage the legitimacy of the Court.

Your BOY issued one on immigration despite saying 22 times he didn't have the authority to do so. How much more disparaging of the Court can one get than that.

The President is attacking the legitatmacy of a co-equal branch of the Government. Questioning their authority and trying to de-legitimatize one of the few checks we have on his power.

That is can be the start of an attempt to overthrow the government by a president.
Hmmm....ya know those 2nd amendment crazies have been predicting this for a long time. Perhaps that time has come?

Good thing people with severe mental illness can now obtain guns again.

Wrong again counselor; he is correctly criticizing an activist jurist who is obviously ignorant of the Constitutional powers of the President.

One has to marvel at how often you are wrong and deliberately dishonest driven by a hyper partisan ideology that represents failure and decline.

I applaud you as the poster boy of liberal leftist failure and the ideology that celebrates, losers, criminals and those who hate the American dream.

No, he did not disparage their power and he accepted their rulings without attacking them.

Wrong again counselor; Obama, your hero, disparaged the Congress and the Constitution when he declared he would act without congress. The ONLY President I know of to make such a Fascist statement and then act on it through dozens of executive orders attempting to create laws; yet leftist hypocrites like you applauded him. Dunce.

7 policies Obama Says He'll Pursue Without Congress (State of the Dictatorship)

Should Congressman and Senators?

You didn't have problems when every lefty including Obama was disparaging Citizens United did you?

Nope. Like a good little minion you cheered from the cheap seats

Spare me your faux indignation and Alinskyite tactics

The thread has been won.

We may all return to our homes.

There you go again; lying. He didn't disparage the legitimacy of the court you lying leftist twit. He was correctly questioning the judicial logic of this idiot who thinks a President does not have the power to limit immigration from pariah nations.

Barack Hussein Obama is the global director of universal evil and the lord of the fools and the master of all bastards. he is still leading the damned of earth straight forward to hell... marching... double time now. one, two, three, four, fools

1) Trump is doing something very different than what Trump is doing, he is trying to weaken the structure of our government as it was built by the founders.

2) You guys are so funny with the Waaaaaaaa, they did it too!

You remember incorrectly. He simply said he disagreed. It is okay to disagree, it is not okay to disparage their authority.

Just who do you think is disparaging who's authority? This appointed, dumbass judge is basically saying, "President Trump, you cannot be trusted with that kind of power, so I am going to take it away from you". Have you read the law Trump is using for this? It is one of the clearer federal laws I have seen. It basically says that if he had wanted to, he could have actually banned ALL MUSLIM immigration, indefinitely! This "judge" is a moron, and I would love to hear Trump call him that to his face. On the flip side, while you leftards argue over how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, any of our enemies would be EXTREMELY foolish(but I may be giving them too much credit there) to commit an act of terrorism on our soil, thereby proving Trump correct. So keep it up, block everything you possibly can, by whatever means at your disposal! And when, at the end of 4 years, you have blocked EVERYTHING and NOTHING has changed for the better, your idiots can run on their records and lose in spectacular fashion. Politics is going to be boring without you guys.

How can they "prohibit enforcement"?

What is their enforcement mechanism. For example, let's say President Trump decides to say "FUCK YOU 9th Circuit, I am going ahead with my plans. Thanks for your opinion, but go fuck yourself"

If President Trump were to do that, what recourse would the 9th Circuit have? How could they stop him from executing his plans?

Impeachment would be the first line of enforcement for such action.

That is absolutely not what the judge said. The judge said that under the law he has to favor issuing a TRO in favor of the status quo if the Plaintiffs show a reasonable likelihood of winning, and he ruled that the Plaintiffs did that.

I of course understand Teflon is setting up a constitutional crisis scenario with his Trump refusal hypo, but I'd also like to add the the judiciary has the power to issue writs to command the performance of acts. The belief that the judiciary is absolutely void of jurisdiction to execute, or that the executive is devoid of power to rule, or that congress is void as a deliberative tribunal, are all simplistic.

Courts can and do issue writs. Were the potus to refuse to follow the law, a court could issue a writ of mandamus, or prohibition and could try to bring him to justice in the criminal justice system. The potus is just a citizen, as are we all, not a king or sovereign.
