I read yesterday where Goldman Sachs is predicting another domestic oil boom due to Trump's tax reforms. Lefties can take to the streets all they want to, but when the economy starts clicking the working class is going to be happy. And happy voters are motivated voters.

Basically, what we are seeing is the result of a true change election. This is the Carter to Reagan switch on steroids. And change can be messy since it challenges the status quo. And lots of people, ideologues and institutions are threatened by Trump. Or threatened by his movement, more specifically.

Currently, the left is driven by emotion. Which is good only insofar as they are energized, for now. Their problem is they lack a set of core principles to rally around. They also lack leadership. There's little in the way of focus on policy prescriptions so I question whether they can sustain themselves just on emotion when the next meaningful election is a full two years off.

The Tea Party had a set of principles to act on that practically all their supporters could recite off the tops of their heads: smaller, less intrusive government; lower taxes and a focus on the economy and jobs.

Whereas, the left is basically just enraged. Practically all their counter arguments are emotional. For example, Trump's Muslim ban that's a Muslim ban except when it's not a Muslim ban lol. He's not only fulfilling a campaign promise but he's well within his power, as POTUS, to restrict immigration. It's also has good poll support.

It's going to come down to whether Trump can produce results. If he does, it's bad news for the lefties. They could easily be put of power for a decade. I think they are aware of this, so Trump must be taken down and his movement destroyed, no matter what the cost.

I think that Cracked article probably made better points than a standard MSM op-ed. Sad place we're at eh?

As to your point I understand but I don't want to get along with progressives. At all. In any way. They are a death sentence for any society that allows them anything more than a token influence.

well here's the thing.there is what is called the loyal opposition, and there is the attempts at de-legitimization.
The loyal opposition requires that any opposition to the majority in power has to be just that-
still loyal to the good of the USA comes first.

Obviously the loyal opposition under Obama and now under Trump isn't loyal ( to best interests of the USA)
at all-
it's only goal is pure obstructionism for it's own sake,and that's not in the country's best interest..

The majority also needs to reach out. Obama never did -it was his abandonment of attempts of bi-partisanship
that hardened the opposition to a default static place.

Will Trump do any outreach? Only if he stops reacting - which I don't see happening..yet at least.

Like I said it would take a meeting or with all the leadership ( traditionally done at the WH by POTUS request)
and much more to reset. We the people would need to demand it..but we don't.

So we wind up with XO's instead of legislation, and a Trump presidency hamstrung by Democratic obstruction of his Cabinet.
Which is why they stumbled into that horrible roll out of the XO on immigration.
Blind partisanship does have consequences.

I care far more about my state and local governments than I do Washington DC. As far as I'm concerned gridlock in DC is the best thing for all of us.

Neither one of us is able to demonstrate anything. On just a quick perusal, analysis is all over the place, w/ most saying it's more of a wildcard than anything, and could be just as negative as positive.

Most think regardless that it will raise gas prices for the consumer.
