Obama started letting in a lot of Syrian refugees because

1.) The vetting process takes about two years
2.) The Syrian Civil War started two years ago

Syria was suddenly producing most of the refugees in the world, so obviously our refugee policy would take them into account. It's not some UN mandate like you pulled out of your ass here. Now they have a special exclusion from refugee status, they were previously being treated just like any other refugee, now one man's endless bigotry has shut that down and is leaving children to blow up.

I sort of get why Obama would do that given his outstanding role in the implosion of Libya. But Obama is gone along with the middle name in my screen name---as promised lol. Tis the season to keep promises.

We/you have a new president now. He actually puts the safety of tax payers ahead of the plight of refugees. What a novel idea.

I've noticed a facile attempt by the left and the media [nearly a redundancy] to couch their objection to Trump's EO in moral terms. As if public policy should be based on morality. I thought that was a big no-no.

But let's go with it. How 'moral' is it to help Syrian refugees when so many of our veterans can't even get adequate healthcare---after putting their lives on the line so lefties are free to have pussy rebellions or burn flags in the streets? How about the poor buggers in Flint Michigan who need clean water? How 'moral' is it to put the Syrian refugees ahead of their concerns?

Maybe someone can explain that to me.

Americans are notoriously fickle.

Just because a handful of malcontents up in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania threw a temper tantrum and handed Shlump the election with a lot of help from Comey, does not mean he has the backing of the people.

But their mood can very easily swing back in the opposite direction on a dime and hand Shlump a Democrat Senate to deal with in '18 then undo their massive fuckup in '20.

I've read the so called vetting process. It does take about 2 years,and Obama's refugess flow of maybe 10k a year could have been handled if it was expeditious vetting.

I remind you Hillary -wanted to follow the UN prescription. 65k this year and 100k ( or more ) next year.

Now you tell me how a process that might have been able to handle 10k in 2 year - your words that I can agree too- can suddenly process 6-10x more in the same time period??

It would be impossible, and the vetting standards would have had to be significantly reduced..

What is happening instead is a thorough re-evaluation of the process-clearly Trump does not trust anything much about Obama's refugee process, and Clinton and the UN's advocation of exponentially more is a main reason

PS the Syrian Civil war is much more then 2 years ago -it all started around 2011

I always accepted and feared the fact that Trump could defy expectations and pull off a win.
