Who knows. Guess Nieto thought it was going to be the usual nice little formal dinner "with Beyoncé singing to him" (per Mark Steyn) LOL. Didn't really think Trump would call him on his debt to the U.S.

The peso was tumbling Thursday after Mexico's president, Enrique Peña Nieto, announced he had canceled a meeting scheduled for next week with President Donald Trump.
The peso was down by 1.2% at 21.3175 per dollar as of 11:57 a.m. ET.
The currency was up by as much as 0.8% at 20.9358 per dollar at about 8:50 a.m. ET.
"This morning we have informed the White House that I will not attend the meeting scheduled for next Tuesday with the @POTUS," Peña Nieto tweeted, according to an online translation.
That followed a tweet sent earlier on Thursday morning by Trump's personal Twitter account that said: "The U.S. has a 60 billion dollar trade deficit with Mexico. It has been a one-sided deal from the beginning of NAFTA with massive numbers of jobs and companies lost. If Mexico is unwilling to pay for the badly needed wall, then it would be better to cancel the upcoming meeting."

Trump did NOT cancel meeting....what he said is "If Mexico is unwilling to pay for the badly needed wall, then it would be better to cancel the upcoming meeting."

Trump needs to shut up - seriously his lack of political experience is fine -his Tweets are counterproductive.

Many world leaders, such as China, play the "thin skinned" card. That doesn't intimidate Trump.

His tweets didn't hurt his campaign, ... apparently.

I love that he tweets. He's a master at trolling. He circumvents the racist, bigoted, leftwing press. His tweets are not only strategic, but also make him the most transparent president ever. It's a new form of media, and other world leaders are starting to jump on board.

this isn't campaigning,and it's hurting his diplomacy-go ahead and Tweet domestics ( since that atmosphere is beyond poisonous)
but lay off the diplomacy. Diplomacy requires Kabuki -like it or not.

We're the ones that have been told we should live in fear of ... china, NK, russia because they are all so thin-skinned and gotta save face, that even the slightest offense will send them into a nuclear frenzy. That is Kabuki. Now Trump is laying some Kabuki on them.

- If Mexico isn't going to pay for the wall, perhaps their leader shouldn't attend the scheduled meeting. -

Mexico called the Donald's bluff. The meeting is off.

It's the problem psychologist Joy Browne so eloquently explains. If you don't want to tug-o’-war with someone, drop your end of the rope.

That's what Mexico has done. And now Trump can enjoy for lunch the crap sandwich he's made for himself.

"wanting to stop illegal immigration" is an objective.
Aridzona wasn't attacked from an objective. Arizona was blocked from illegal methodology.
