The solution to Californians that want to secede

The solution is that California stays, but anyone who wants to leave may do so at any time......................

Mexico is looking for a few good migrants I have heard, they are needed to dismantle auto plants that are now being erected in the USA

what if the people in silicone valley decide to move to Canada? or more Californians want to secede than want to stay?

if california were a nation it would have the 6th largest economy of the world. it also pays more in federal taxes than it receives in federal spending. in other words, federal taxes would have to go up if it were to secede.

i recall the same arguments during brexit lol.

You liberals are so closed minded about taxes and spending. Do you think that it might be remotely possible that there is another option? That instead of taxes going up, FedCo would simply spend less, perhaps?

Makes sense to me. What would you cut?
We're ~$20 $Trillion in debt. http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/

I suppose we don't have to pay all that off all at once.

BUT !!

It would be nice to be able to run some surpluses.

So what would you cut? The military is one of our biggest expenditures. So after we started getting F-35's the pentagon said we'd cut the A-10. Cutting the A-10 isn't going to balance the budget. And it could potentially cost more to cut the A-10 than to keep it..

Switching the light off in the hallway isn't enough. Balancing our $budget will require cutting many $hundreds of $Billions. So what will you cut?

"... everyone's for big government. The American People say we hate big government, but we like our social security and medicare. That's 38% of government right there. The biggest components of government are the most popular components of government."
"What's pernicious about deficits for conservatives is this. It makes big government cheap. What we're doing, we're turning to the country, the "conservative" administration turns to the country and says: We're going to give you a dollar's worth of government, we're going to charge you seventy five cents for it. And we're going to let your kids pay the other quarter." George Will Nov 30, 2003

the dims have their hands in your wives pants and the repugs have their hands in your pockets

one way or another you pay more

If by "dims" you mean the Trump administration, yes. VP Pence is well known for wanting to usurp a woman's right to choose. Interesting that he's so determined to do this despite the fact that he doesn't seem to be a woman.

when i referred to the dims, i referring to the dems in general, just as when i referred to the repus i was referring the reps in general

among other things, the repugs are generally against women's rights while the dims are generally for women's rights

I destroyed your argument with reasoned logic so you respond with sexual innuendo. If that's what you need to do to make yourself feel of value...

It is a bitter irony. For by that standard therefore, it's the Democrat party that is the more politically conservative; despite long-entrenched and zealously defended traits to the contrary.

Republicans TALK a great game: oh we're the political party of conservatism

BULL SPIT

Genuine political conservatives support smaller, less intrusive, less authoritarian government.

BUT !!

Find a perceived social ill the Republicans don't like, be it:
- a woman's right to choose, or
- same sex marriage, or
- flag burning

and Republicans want larger, more authoritarian government to impose THEIR will on their countrymen about it.

I have little patience for hypocrisy.
"It is necessary to the happiness of man that he be mentally faithful to himself. Infidelity* does not consist in believing or in disbelieving; it consists in professing to believe what he does not believe." [*hypocrisy?] Thomas Paine 1737 - 1809

how old are you? this joke was old when i first heard it (the dems have their hands in your pants and the reps have their hands in your pockets) 36 years ago

if you need more explaination it is that the dems were more likely to commit sexual (usually adultery) misdeeds and the reps financial misdeeds - now the two parties seem to caught up with each other...bummer

If it was a joke then why are you mentioning my wives [sic] pants?

If Microsoft and or Intel move to Canada they pay at least a 35 percent tax to ship their wares back to the USA...........stopped Ford cold in their tracks

-Killing babies is not conservative, nor is it liberal. It is the Holy Sacrament of leftism.
-Same sex marriage does not require any government at all. This was the conservative position.
-Fair point about flag burning. Conservatives should not try to tell leftists to stop burning their favorite toilet paper.

They lose their market when we make no trade pact with them and allow no visas.
And a uge benefit to Oregon and Washington ports.
