President Donald Trump directed government agencies on Friday to freeze regulations and take steps to weaken Obamacare, using his first hours in the White House to make good on a campaign promise to start dismantling his predecessor's healthcare law.

Heading into the Oval Office shortly after the conclusion of his inaugural parade, Trump signed an order on the Affordable Care Act that urged government departments to "waive, defer, grant exemptions from, or delay the implementation" of provisions that imposed fiscal burdens on states, companies or individuals.

It also called for efforts to give states greater flexibility in implementing healthcare programs while developing "a free and open market in interstate commerce for the offering of healthcare services and health insurance."

Health experts had speculated that Trump could expand exemptions from the so-called individual mandate, which requires Americans to carry insurance or face a penalty, or the requirement that employers offer coverage.

Experts also believe the administration could try to reduce the “essential benefits,” such as maternity care and mental health services, that insurance plans must cover.

My healthcare costs prior to Obamacare going into effect remained relatively stable. Since I don't give a shit about you, I don't care if yours go through the roof.

You fucks' biggest problem is thinking someone else should care more and do more for you than you're willing to care and do for yourselves.

I did see a brief video segment of Trump using a single pen to sign a directive to modify the way Obamacare is administered.

But "euthanize" means to kill. And even if applied lethargically Obamacare would still seem to be the law of the land.

Technically Trump can not kill Obamacare, because it is already dead, as insurers can not afford to be involved and have opted out. Trump is just throwing dirt on the body to keep the smell down

1) Economy of scale can lower prices across the board.
The proof of this is; single party insured are often run over roughshod.
They have little if any leverage. And if a health insurer doesn't want to pay for what it deems is expensive; even if it's covered by the policy, they can refuse to pay.

BUT !!

2) For large groups of insureds, when an insurer tries that, the leverage each insured has is the collective strength of the group. And they're generally treated much better.

3) No need to re-invent the wheel here.
There are ALREADY IN EXISTENCE healthcare systems such as single payer which not only provide healthcare outcomes, delivering comparable patient life expectancy and quality of life compared to ours.

BUT !!

They do so on a lower per patient cost.

You can dismiss it as mere patriotism or not.

Obama told everyone that liked their doctors/plan they could keep it. He wasn't speaking directly to you. He was talking to everyone and he lied.

who knows - Obamacare was blowing out on costs - it did give insurance to many who would not qualify -
bu it made it un-affordable for others. so lets not go there as it was all fine and dandy.

I came up with a better plan where all those involved get what they want. I provide mine to me and my family and you provide yours to yourself/your family and anyone else you're willing to voluntarily fund with your money.

How that works is I provide for those to I feel should get it and you do the same thing. Can't get better than that.
 
People keep saying that Trump is going to trash Obama's legacy - but universal healthcare will always be a huge part of his legacy. Because Trump is stuck w/ it.
