Trump's speech sounds like it was plagiarized from Russian propaganda

Yes, I'm sure you're for free markets and liberty.

As an apparent Trump supporter, I am sure you are not.

Protectionism is not a free market principle. In fact, it is the primary thing early free marketers, like Smith, fought against.

I voted for Trump, I really didn't want Hillary.

As for protectionism, that's just a cost of doing business. Tariffs, taxes and other fees have always been a fact of life.

So you are for higher taxes because it's just a "cost of doing business"... "a fact of life"... or maybe a "different stroke (Trump was on that show) for different folks" or some other stupid and meaningless idiom? I bet you think Trump's speeches are real deep, don't you?

It's not about whether the taxes are high or low, it's about taxes period. If you're going to say that you can't have a free market with taxes at any rate at all then you can't agree with taxation in any form.

Yeah, I did not say that.

When the government actively seeks to to tilt things to favor some enterprises and hinder others then you don't have a free market. Free trade is essential to free markets. Again, consult Adam Smith.

Your response was nothing but irrelevant and inaccurate idioms. It's not a cost of doing business or a fact of life. It's a cost created solely by third parties to the business activity or exchange of goods (i.e., governments) and it does not exist in nature or without government.

Of course it doesn't exist without the government. Governments tax...no government, no tax.

btw, I didn't just make up the phrase "cost of doing business". You should probably consult Smith because he actually argued for what we now call progressive taxation.

what about the auto-bailout? what happened to your precious free market there?

It was legislated, so, obviously, the free market got knifed on that one, too. If the public really wanted to prop-up GM and Chrysler, then they would fucking buy American already.
