Just when you think it can't get any crazier...

Trump may have historically low approval ratings in his own country, but over in Russia, he's got a wildly enthusiastic fan base.

Art-Grani
, a Russian metal-working company, decided to celebrate the incoming president by minting commemorative silver and gold coins featuring his visage. What better way to tell someone you love them than by making a coin of them/hacking their election?

Of course, those coins will retail for $10,000 per coin, because this is Trump we're talking about. The people won't be able to buy it, but his cabinet sure will...

One side of the coin features Trump, while the other includes the Statue of Liberty and the phrase "In Trump we trust."

Yes, you read that right: the word "God" has been replaced by "Trump," which is obviously nothing but a good sign for American democracy. The company will produce 45 coins, 25 of them silver, 5 gold and 15 silver and gold.

Well sure. Russians celebrating other Russians isn't news.
who knows...significant event? winners?

I saw Lindsey Graham last night with his usual diatribe about "throwing rocks at Russia"
The dude was pissed off because of gains under Obama by Putin.

Kept saying "we need to hit him hard and then negotiate" and such junk noise;
i.e. the usual mono-polar madness at work

I know where you're wanting to go with this, but if Putin really had something going under the table with Trump, I doubt he would be advertising it lol.

You're being trolled. More than anything, Putin wants to sew division and cause people in this country to lose faith in their institutions.

The government didn't put out the coin, a private business did. I think it's bizarre, especially "In Trump We Trust." And I can't think of any other authoritarian leader who's given such fulsome praise to one of our presidents.

See my last post.

If it's a private business it has nothing to do with the government.

I don't think he cares about US electoral process at all. I do think he's happy to sew discord in NATO -but not US politics

You could be right but who knows, really. It's all speculation.

The mind of Putin has become a political topic lol. Asserting he messes with our politics is one thing, his intentions are quite another. It's all guesswork.

true. stick to realpolitik -it never lies:
politics or diplomacy based primarily on considerations of given circumstances and factors, rather than explicit ideological notions or moral and ethical premises.

Bingo.

John Adams rolled that way. In theory at least, Trump/Tillerson should do the same, since it's all they know.

Should be interesting.

that looks good. More sanctions on Putin isn't going to change him.
Get some lower level talks going -get some understanding of our bottom lines; and quit the escalations to a stalemated Europe.
And Putin has to commit to no more hacking of politics or land grabs.
