Trump's Team Looks Smarter on Russia

Amazing how a group of people who've always boasted and bragged about how much more loyal and patriotic for 'Murica they were than everyone else, have suddenly all just bent over and spread their asses wide open for Russia.

Your brain has to really be twisted and knotted up with hatred, to offer up your ass to this country's #1 adversary just because you so badly hate the candidate who ran against yours, all the while knowing full well your guy is in their back pocket.

The Republican Party is now officially the party of Russia.

This is all assuming of course you actually believe the Russians pwned us. Because if you don't believe that then you have to wonder what the opposition is trying to accomplish here.

that's WAY TOO nuanced for the anti-Russian hysterics !

Tom Donnelly of the conservative American Enterprise Institute had a harsher assessment.

"Trump is an imbecile in international politics, and apparently proud to be so," he said. "To begin with, the Eastern Europeans are the ones meeting their defense spending targets. Moreover, they're the front-line states, the ones who would pay the highest costs in blood and loss of freedom in any contest with the Russians.

"Finally, if the changes in the Republican platform on Ukraine are anything to go by, Trump is prepared to grant Russia a sphere of influence in Eastern Europe that would begin to undo the victory of the Cold War"

that refers to getting NATO states to pay 2% of their GDP for defense. Yes the western European (NATO) states are not there yet -
but they are moving that way .
But this dude's comments about "spheres of influence" is laughable considering the NATO expansionism we foisted upon Putin -
after promising not to.

If Russians did hack democrat corruption, then intent becomes the tricky part.

It's currently taken as a given that Putin was pulling for Trump, but that raises the question of why?. Why wouldn't Putin want four more years of feckless US policy when Putin flourished under it? Doesn't really make a lot of sense.

The alternative contention, is that Putin wasn't pulling for Trump so much as trying to undermine people's faith in the electoral process.

If it's the latter case, the left are Putin's willing stooges.

Well the former head of the supreme headquarters allied powers europe agrees with the aei think tank guy. So I pretty much will ignore your sense of humor. Aren't you the clown who used to support bacs ridiculous musings about the engineering impossibility of the wtc falling as the quite obviously did? Or are you the guy who made Libya your raison detre years after it was all over?

Your post shows you miss the idea of "spheres of influence" & the pushback from Putin on NATO expansion.

No. I'm no a conspiratorial guy like BAC when it comes to the WTC.
I have been following Libya since the US/NATO assassination of Qadaffi ( Libyan Civil War 2011) -which led to the Libyan Civil War of 2014. Libya is a failed terrorist state ( 3 current governments).

Libya is far from over : it was a quiet but persistent issue in the POTUS campaign by both Bernie and Trump against Hillary

U.S. is bombing Libya again, 5 years after NATO war destabilized the country
he U.S. launched a new bombing campaign in Libya on Monday — just five years after another disastrous bombing campaign that plunged the country into chaos.
the air strikes are meant to target ISIS, which in Libya has carved out its largest territory outside of Iraq and Syria. It was the U.S.-backed 2011 NATO war in Libya that destabilized the country in the first place, however, empowering extremist groups and allowing the self-proclaimed Islamic State to take hold in the oil-rich North African nation.

Well, between the two of us, I'd wager only I have read nick raisanovkys history completely while one of my majors was international relations. So please lecture me on "spheres of influence" little blogging dude.

More accurately, you are obsessed with Libya as a Hillary attack vehicle, writing literally thousands of posts in an installment based psychotic interior monologue.

Trump quite unwittingly threatens to undo the cornerstone of western deterrence. It is shocking, his incompetence. Only Putin you and trump think that is brilliant.

well at least you show some lucidity here -good for you.

So what are the west/Russian "spheres in Europe? where do you set them?
does the fall of the USSR along with NATO expansionism change them?

as mentioned on Libya it was a campaign issue - frequently bundles in with Iraq to show Hillary's shitty judgement on war and peace.
If Bernie and Trump both thought that important -why do you not?

where has Libyan weapons flow gone since the 2011 war?
with Iraq pulling back on it's oil production -should Libya step up theirs? can they?

I don't care about Libya. It's small potatoes. Except that Trump canned one of his advisors for not finding any fault with Obama on it.

Heilemann: But it’s possible that NATO is obsolete and should be gotten rid of?

Trump: It’s possible. It’s possible. I would certainly look at it. And I’d want more help from other people. The one thing definitely — we’re paying too much. As to whether or not it’s obsolete, I’ll make that determination.

I think Russian tanks roll across Europe if Dump determines it is obsolete.

ISIS infestation of Libya is "small potatos...
There is a continuum of terrorism from Syria/Iraq the the Sinai into Libya, and across N.Africa ( AQIM) whereby terrorist flow freely back and forth.
As ISIS Expands In North Africa, Morocco Faces Rising Threat Of Islamic State Group Terrorism
“The jihadist hub in Libya, which is attracting Moroccans, Tunisians and others, is a major challenge that is increasingly difficult for Morocco to insulate itself from,”
http://www.ibtimes.com/isis-expands...-threat-islamic-state-group-terrorism-2263641

NATO "being obsolete" refers to the organizational payment structure. It was a stupid thing to say, but it was done by Trump in his "transactional" foreign policy view..

Russian tanks across Europe?? -maybe when Pigs Fly

North Africa may be important to North Africans, but it is very unimportant on the whole chessboard.

Nobody cares about Libya but you. I for one am glad we took two billion from him before we executed his ass. As long as Rommel isn't launching a tank invasion I don't care what happens there, relatively speaking. It's like I brought you a car with a thrown rod and you are detailing to me the chemical properties of the apolstery in the headrest stain. Libya doesn't mean shit.

You lie in Defense of dump. Several interviewers were careful in making trump draw distinction. He clearly indicated he understood and would not say that the alliance was sacrosanct. He said money for certain (thus blackmailing our allies) and possibly shutting it down.

ROFL..my gawd you are willfully ignorant. You claim To understand "spheres" -yet you cannot understand the nexus between N.Africa and the middle east.
Riddle me this - if ISIS thought Libya wasn't important enough -would it's senior leadership have enjoined jihad there?

Or here's a more direct question assuming you can read maps..what country's border is in on Libya's east -it's Egypt.
Now does Egypt seem important enough for you? Did Egypt think Libya was important enough to bomb Libya?
Apparently the US thought Libya was important enough to bomb Libya -yes?...
So if the US bombed ISIS in Libya ,and Egypt bombed ISIS in Libya..only the US bombing is of importance to the "chessboard"
Is that your position?

February 2015 Egyptian airstrikes in Libya
The air strikes had allegedly killed up to 64 ISIL militants, including three of the leadership, in the coastal cities of Derna and Sirte.
Libyan media reported that at least 35 more Egyptians had been rounded up by ISIL in retaliation for the air raids.

As to Trump saying NATO isn't important -it's not about the money -do you have any citations?

You lied again. I guess that is required in defense of the Dump.

I didn't say Dump said it's not about the money. Got any citations? He said the relationship has changed and that we need more money from allies, and that it is possible that he would determine to disband it.

Do your own googling.

As for Russian geopolitical ambitions read
"Libya represents an interesting opportunity for Russia's geopolitical ambitions. The Kremlin is taking advantage of the political void left by the American administration and is stretching its arm in the Mediterranean," Varvelli told Al Jazeera.

We don't care. Let the Russians have that shit stain.

He found a book about it in the Barnes & Noble clearance bin. Memorized passages out of it, now he thinks he's a foreign policy expert.

ahh..so Egypt's concerns , and the US concerns, and ISIS in Libya, and the geographical direct line
( you could literally walk from Syria to w.Africa) and Libya supplying arm to Boko Harem....these are essentially a meaningless "shitstain?"
Is that you well thought out position?

And Russian expansionism in the Ukraine IS important -but Russian expansionism into the middle east, and N.Africa IS NOT important?
again is this your position? that's an amazing contradiction..can you explain that differences?

you are the one that made the clam that Trump's "possible disbanding of NATO" is not about funding NATO -
yet I'm supposed to google to support your premise?

I think not.
I think your arguments are weak, unsupported, naive , and essentially worthless other then your opinion -
which of course you are entitled to.
