Why Trump Won

Life is Golden

The Sage
"Trump won because many Americans were sick of being told that they were the racists as Barack Obama and his Department of Justice stoked race riots in major cities around the country.

Trump won because many Americans were sick of watching other Americans being destroyed for their supposed intolerance – for their religious beliefs, for their unwillingness to label women men and men women, for their support for traditional marriage or conservative political candidates.

Trump won because many Americans were tired of the media’s constant harping on America’s flaws – we were supposedly sexist, racist, and homophobic. Americans said that they did not believe the media, and they were right to do so.

Trump was a reaction. We have yet to determine whether that reaction will pay off on behalf of conservatism, or whether Trump will continue to be a rogue agent out for his own self-aggrandizement. But the reaction is entirely understandable and justifiable.

And the left don’t get it. They keep pushing the same false narratives, the same garbage stories, the same slurs. If they continue to do so, America will keep reacting just the way the left fears."

That had a lot to do with it but Trump isn't conservative.

Trump won because he had a collection of evemts happening at the same time: Russia, FBI, overt right wing media, and Clinton as a bad campaigner

You people like to think it was some kind of historical movement, but more people voted for the other candidate, lot more, and swing hundred thousand votes and he loses, not a movement

Now the denying can begin

It's a silly argument.

Obama left the country relatively evenly divided. No matter who won, the country would still be divided. As it turned out the electoral college held a much wider gap than the popular vote and Hillary got washed.

a) Trump won because the electoral college said so. But the fact remains Trump lost the vote by millions of ballots.

b) Hillary was believed to be favorite. Not in just one poll, but in many, over a sustained period of time.
So it may be that voters that believed a Clinton victory was assured, didn't bother to vote.

That theory doesn't hold water because democrats have lost so many seats under Obama. The only logical conclusion is that Obama's policies have been repudiated by a clear majority of voters. The voice of the majority has been expressed more clearly through that, than in the popular vote.

What you guys desperately don't want to hear, is that you can't go back to business as usual and expect to get the seats back or the WH.

All of this blaming Comey, Russians etc is an exercise in denial. And denial will just keep you wandering in the political wilderness longer.

You say this a lot, but it ignores history.

America is purple. When one party has control, things swing back toward the other party. You're just gonna have to trust me on this one: Americans do not want Republicans in control of everything for years & years. Things will start to swing back as early as '18.

I'm sorry, but did he really just say "overt right wing media"?

While that may true, national parties aren't static things: the republicans had to evolve to a changing political landscape and democrats will need to do the same. The democrats lurched leftward under Obama. Light years from where they were under the last democrat president, Bill Clinton.

And in their leftward lurch they abandoned the working class for identity politics, environmental extremism and the like. Politically, democrats left a large set of double doors swinging wide open for a populist like Trump.

In retrospect, more people should have seen it coming.

Maybe she should try again.....and next time they give her a handicap like in the Primary.....because she's a girl.
Democrat Party’s controversial formula for allocating super delegates:

57 percent go to Clinton.

The remaining 43 percent also go to Clinton. :palm:

Trump ran an electoral campaign, and won electorally! He didn't run a popular vote campaign, as that isn't how you win!
Trump only lost the national popular vote because of one state - California, which didn't have a single Republican running in a statewide campaign. Both U.S. Senate candidates were Democrat, which massively dispirited California Republicans from voting in a state that was known to go "blue" regardless of their efforts. Even Texas only had one statewide race with a Republican running, which was for Railroad Commissioner, and that state was known to be going "red". If the popular vote determined the presidential election, not only would Trump have run a completely different campaign, but many more Republican Texans and Californians would've turned out to make their vote actually "count"...
