Birther-ism is analogous to what the democrats and the media are trying to do to Trump *only* insofar as both are attempts at delegitimization.

What lefties won't accept is the difference in scale and magnitude. Birther-ism was relatively fringe and it helped Obama because it allowed him to label some opponents as lunatics. There's a reason he dragged it out before finally releasing it lol: he didn't need to lift a finger and the non-issue was working for him.

Also, birther-ism didn't delegitimize the election process, itself. If...Putin was behind the hacking of democrat corruption [I love that lol] one of the objectives could easily be that he wanted to create acrimony and/or decrease people's faith in national elections.

In that case, democrats are the useful idiots and real stooges.

Did birtherism involve our relations with another super power? No.

Did it involve the intelligence community and the spurious release of a garbage document that they had to know was garbage, or they are grossly incompetent. No.

Did Bush step in and lay sanctions against another country because of Obama's birth certificate lol? The analogy is so stupid it's funny. Not no, but hell no he didn't.
