Conservatives never stop crying about the media,

which they have to since their melodramatic view of the world has to have a scapegoat and Obama/Clinton aren't available any longer, but, keep in mind, it was the same conservatives back in the Reagan years that purposely killed the Fairness Doctrine in the media which had been around since the 1920's and guaranteed equal coverage.

Ironic how they so quickly forget, rather ignore, their past erroneous crusades that haunt them today.

The fairness doctrine provided equal coverage? Is this a joke?

No, it was no joke

The Fairness Doctrine was a policy of the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC), introduced in 1949, that required the holders of broadcast licenses both to present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that was — in the Commission's view — honest, equitable, and balanced.

I know what it said on paper. In the real world...

If Archive had done his homework, he would know that by the late 90's this doctrine became moot with the introduction of the internet and vastly more cable channels (read news sources).

Conservatives have an issue with most media because by and large they do lean left. It is quite evident with NBC, ABC, CBS, etc. IMO, CNN is about as objective as you can get, however, they still have a slight left slant. That really only leaves FOX to give a right slant to people.

Not hard to imagine why conservatives have an issue with the media.

I agree. Just with the nightly news on the two channels I watched as a kid growing up, much less the 24 hour news channels nowadays. Dan Rather and Peter Jennings both had a leftward bent...Dan moreso, IMO.

Edit: I must add that my "growing up" was done in the 70's and 80's.

Love educating conservatives, the Fairness Doctrine was already history by the 90's, so your post is irrelevant, and all that emotion wasted

1) he's a Democrat

2) you're an idiot compared to him

3) you're 'fairness doctrine' was worthless

How are you educating anyone when I'm the one who pointed that out to you?

My bad, read 90"s, somebody noted 90's and the Internet, and growing up how did you know they had a leftward bent?

The 70"s amd 80"s were dominated by conservative ideology, Republican Presidents, so you sure it just wasn't review of the powers that existed?

??

Can somebody please explain what I was agreeing to for the keeper of history here? That's ok. I'll try. I was agreeing with Mr. Yaya that the network news has a leftward slant and further pointed out that, IMO, it always has...even in my formidable teenage years of the 70's and 80's when Dan Rather and Peter Jennings. Even before the doing away with the so called fairness doctrine.

Emotion? I haven't expended near the emotion in the 8 years of Obama, the most liberal president of my lifetime, that some of you guys have expended in just the 65 or so days since Trump got elected...and he hasn't even done anything yet. I'm expending more emotion over Amendola getting away with an obvious push off on that 3rd down pass play I just watched than I have over politics in a long, long time.

Edit: My boy just corrected me. It wasn't Amendola it was Edelman.
