Should Edward Snowden be pardoned for stealing documents from the CIA which exposed the Governments domestic surveillance program?

I think he committed a crime, but it was clearly to expose something many believe the government was wrong to do. His actions did result in the Government ending that program and basically admitting it was wrong..

I am less familiar with that situation, but what I do know is they are completely different circumstances. Manning just vomited everything they found and leaked a lot of sensitive material without being responsible about it. Snowden actually tried going through whistleblower channels first, and when push came to shove he released it to respectable journalists for them to release it responsibly.

That said, both exposed government wrongdoing so yeah I could probably get behind a pardon for manning as well, or at the very least a sentence commution.
