I don't have a problem with trying to get along with the leaders of all countries. I do have a problem with trump elevating Putin over his own country's president re: leadership, etc. It shows his complete lack of character and civility and it was an opinion he should have kept private.

One of the bulwarks of US Foreign policy since 1972 was checking Russian ambitions in the middle east.
It's not just Syria -which could be understood because it's a Russian client state.

as far as I recall the Georgia invasion happened on Bush's watch. And truthfully I do not blame Obama for Crimea - that was a result of years of NATO expansionism that put access to Sevastopol at risk.

Yeah, Obama's foreign policy wasn't 100% flawless and perfect in an insane part of the world.
The question is what kind of seething idiot just looking for any excuse he can find to heap scorn and derision on him even expects perfect policy decisions in a world in which there are often no good options and whichever step a world leader takes is going to have some negative e consequences associated with it?
During Obama's two successful administrations, this country was guided with a steady, though not always perfect hand, and a hand which never pointed us into a useless, needless invasion of another country that was no immediate threat to us. If you spent a fraction of the amount of time railing about that as you do all these minor little decisions you disagree with that Obama made, you might have a shred of credibility.
But as it is, you have none.
