Affordable Care Act

What part of Obamacare do you want to get rid of? The reality is they don't want to get rid of it, it has just been a political tool for votes and anti-Obama rhetoric.

All of it.
There is no fix possible. No point in wasting time on half measures.
And ALL the PHI the gov't has needs to be destroyed.

Sorry, the Republicans cant come up with anything that can get the votes. The ACA is here to stay, they may put on a show of repealing it, but they will replace it with an almost exact copy.

They wont get rid of the Prohibition on Pre-Existing Conditions, the Subsidy, the insurance for 26year olds on parents policy, and unlikely the Mandate. I love it, their reason for living over the last 8 years has died!

They'll just reopen the investigation of Hillary's emails.

The dimwitted wingnut goons will be so distracted and sexually aroused by that, they won't even notice or care that Obamacare is still around.

I was uninsurable at any cost. I assure you I tried hard to get insurance. I've been through this before on this very bored. I even once posted the denial letter and the acceptance letter from the pre-existing conditions insurance company. Believe me if you want don't believe me if it better fits your narrative, the facts are the facts

Bullshit. You would not be denied if you ONLY had high cholesterol. You are leaving something out. High cholesterol doesn't make you uninsurable.

What were your LDLs?
What were your HDLs?
Triglycerides?
Fasting blood sugar?
Family history of heart attack? Anyone under the age of 50 die of a heart attack?

Let them repeal it. I'll be fine. I want the deplorables to lose their coverage so they'll die faster. Repeal Medicare too. I want to accelerate the boomers dying off. I'm sick of paying a tax which goes to the health and well being of a cancerous mass of Trump supporters.

Lets get something straight dummy, I will die on my own nickle. I am not a prole taker like you. I also have money saved up.

Number 2, I am perfectly fine passing laws that allow ER's to deny freeloaders. YOU WILL NEVER SUPPORT such a thing. I put my money where my mouth is, YOU DON'T.

You support said laws, then get butthurt when takers use said laws. How fucking dumb is that?

I want to nationalize the health industry specifically to force you to be a taker or die. It is an act of spite towards rightists.

The government already provides for the majority of healthcare costs in this nation via medicare and medicaid (the elderly are very expensive). Extending it to everyone wouldn't even be a particularly large extension in the grand scheme of things. Maybe raise the medicare taxes by 30% and you'll be revenue neutral.

Plus it would force Grind to be a taker. This would be awesome.

yup. what one can and can't eat. Perhaps mandatory exercise regimes or you'll be cut if you are over a certain weight. No smoking, no alcohol. Maybe eventually we can't do fun risky things. It's a way for government to control behavior and society.

All of that would actually make healthcare more expensive, you'd be more likely to live to an old age and cost the healthcare system a fortune. If you die of a heart attack at the age of 50 you're saving society hundreds of thousands of dollars.

what part don't you understand? I am not a leech like you. I am not a pathetic taker slave. I've gotten sick many times, I broke my ribs a couple of years ago. No hospital for me. No ER. Healed up just nicely. I know it's literally incomprehensible that I wouldn't want to be a pathetic taker like yourself at some point in my life, but I haven't, and I wont be. I will die free.

When are you going to get a Darwin award?

By a huge majority, almost all Americans like Obamacare...That is if you leave Obama's name off of it.
Largely what will happen is, republicans will change what it is called and tweek a few things.
There is no going back to an unbridled market and 40 million uninsured ... unless, of course, the GOP is willing to commit political suicide.
That would be wonderful too ...
Your record on predictions is pretty piss poor Twatsky, I shall have to rename you Nostradumbarse!

On average, the US spends nearly 3 times as much per patient as the UK. Even France, a nation of hyperchondriacs, spends only half as much. It should be apparent to even the most hardened ideologue that something is badly wrong with your healthcare system. To my mind the answer is staring you all in the face, the insurance companies impose a huge amount of administrative costs and take obscene profits in so doing. Anybody that tells you that the system is efficient is just seriously deluded.

Bullshit

It is a meaningless statistic when looked at in isolation

We shall see. I don't love it, in fact their are major flaws in it, but it is better than what we had prior. It is a step in the correct direction. Republicans however cant fix it because they want to go in the wrong direction. The people wont allow that, even Trump has said he is keeping the pre-existing condition prohibition, which is the one reason the free market wont work in healthcare.

it all boils down to the same thing as always......Jarot loves ACA because it saved him money, I hate the ACA because it cost me money, over $7200 a year just in premiums.......so two rich lawyers have different opinions....

What Republican Health Care Plan?

Republicans are preparing to take a major vote this week aimed at repealing Obamacare -- but the drumbeat of concern within GOP ranks about the lack of a replacement is growing louder.

GOP Healthcare Plan: Send flowers to your funeral.

Yes well you must go round with your eyes closed then, the US healthcare system is massively overburdened with bureaucracy and inefficiencies.

i agree and obamacare added so many new insurance codes that an entirely new industry of insurance coders has sprung up.

Simplifying how dr. visits, and other medical treatments are paid will go a long way in reducing the bureaucracy of it all.

I don't disagree. I am saying looking at expenditures alone in isolation is no way to measure a country's healthcare.

When you strip away all of the bullshit and look at the one measure that can be attributed to how well a healthcare system works, look no further than our cancer survival rates compared to the rest of the world.

The problem with any discussion around healthcare is that too many think the laws of supply and demand can be put aside. They can not. The law of supply and demand must be obeyed at all times.
