How does being allowed to carry a concealed weapon across State borders

"You're mistaken if you think possessing a weapon makes you safer. It's a delusional myth the gullible barrel strokers buy." d7 #11

a) Let us concede from the start that the extremist -gun! gun! gun! Rah! Rah! Rah!- extremists make an argument that isn't 100% valid, as Pandora's Box is open.

BUT !!

b) If guns in the possession of well trained shooters isn't a benefit, why do so many law enforcement officers carry them?

It may be true that guns should not be carried by every Thom, Dick, & Mary.
But for those with adequate training, proficiency, and marksmanship; it can be safer to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Firearms / gun carry - mode of carry for auto-loaders:

Condition 0 - A round is in the chamber, the hammer is cocked, and the safety is off, ready to fire.
Condition 1 - Also called "cocked and locked", this means that a round is in the chamber, the hammer is cocked, and the manual thumb safety is on.
Condition 2 - A round is in the chamber, the hammer is uncocked.
Condition 3 - There is no round in the chamber, the hammer is uncocked but a fully loaded magazine is inserted in the mag well.
Condition 4 - The chamber is empty, the hammer is uncocked and there is no magazine inserted in the mag well: source - Thorsen

That's just fucking wonderful. But the facts are that you are more likely to be injured with a weapon in the home than be protected by it. So, you could tell your version to those people.
Fuck all your "studies" and fuck all your "facts", the real fact is the whole planet is going apeshit, and our country is going broke AND apeshit, and for the time being at least, I am "allowed" to own a firearm. You are "allowed" to NOT have a firearm. Whatever.

Not concerned with "making America safer". I want to make MEsafer. But if 500,000 more ME's are safer, it might help "make America safer"

And that right there is what liberals never want to acknowledge.

I am a proponent of people owning guns. That being said, the open carry laws are foolish. Stupid. I can understand a person carrying a concealed handgun. Those idiots walking around with rifles are just looking for trouble and it will not be long in coming.

Open carry is not always about a rifle or any other long gun.
Sometimes it's just a pistol.

So people who don't have a gun in their homes, are never injured by a criminal who does have a gun?

what is your issue with someone carrying a handgun in the open?

Holstered? Not much at all. Rifles to me anyway are a whole different story unless you have a need ( Rancher, farmer etc). Anatta hit the nail on the head I think. Rural areas, you probably have a reason. Urban areas, not so much.

Uh huh, sure you have chief. Is this the same """study""" that says you're 2x as likely to die renting a property as opposed to owning it?

Oh, so it IS that study! That makes this easy.

That """study""" does not differentiate between suicides and accidents. And since suicides are 2/3 of gun deaths, it makes your conclusion one based on a faulty premise.

Tl;Dr you're wrong.

Let's try to clarify, ONE MORE TIME for you stupid fucks. The facts are that you are more likely to be injured by your pissant little popgun than be protected by it. That a barrel stroker like you THINKS you are safer doesn't make it so. Argue all you want, shitstain, about the uncomfortable truth (for you), it's amusing to watch the rationalization.

Keep the flail!

Depends on where you live.

I understand. Willfully ignorant paranoiacs like you love to ignore that kind of truth. It tends to cause a great deal of cognitive dissonance for you, so you insert your head up your ass and dismiss it.

I've never seen someone open carry since the law passed, neither in my hometown, my college town, or inbetween. Most responsible gun owners that carry for self protection aren't flashing their gun around, some do, but by far more people conceal carry than they do open carry, at least in Texas from what I've seen. I personally would not open carry if I had the choice. I'm very much though a supporter of conceal carry and arming yourself for self defense though. We have a right to arms and we have a right to self defense. Most responsible gun owners aren't harming anybody and will probably never even need to defend themselves, but it's their right to have that ability in my opinion just as it's your right to not own or carry a gun.

are you mentally capable of understanding the long gun open carry issue in places like TX?

flat out bullshit, propaganda by anti gun extremists

make America safer" Currently, it is supposedly a top priority for the new Congress, but I'd love to know how a guy from Louisiana, Alabama, or Texas, which all have high rates of gun violence, makes everyone safer by being allowed to pack his gun in New York, Massachusetts, or Hawaii, which all have low levels of gun violence?

And don't bother to regurgitate all the nonsense regarding the Second Amendment, as we know, no right is absolute, even speech can be regulated, Justice Scalia himself stated in wan't an unlimited right

Perhaps someone from Texas might have to go through Chicago...with all its gun regulations that have made it the murder capital of the United States. Just a thought...but there should be a federal licensing agency with an extreme vetting process that allows any law abiding citizen the right to carry and conceal across any state line.
