Trump won with half the amount that clinton spent and the GOP senate and congress slate spent (600m) around 75% what the democrats did (800m) and retained control of house and senate.

It shows that the most corporate backed candidates dont always win!

Really, he's stuffed his cabinet with billionaires, a few struggling millionaires, and has rewarded his most generous donors with prize posts, and your telling us corporate America didn't make out?

Trump is about as populist as you would like to believe as the guy with the top hat on the Monopoly box

Yes. Politicians will start fund raising less and spending less money now on elections.

Doubtful, with Citizens United making it so much more easier to buy a politician money in politics ain't going anywhere

Besides, as we know now, Trump's victory was due to a number of abnormal factors that we are unlikely to see in the future

i hope so. they are shown they can spend money smarter not faster and that there are plenty of campaign fundamentals that money cannot replace.

Trump has stuffed his cabinet with successful businessmen.

Under Obama Walstreet did well by investing in foreign nations and importing goods back into the U.S.

Global corporations made billions thanks to Obama while America began a slow slide into national poverty. What has the GDP been stuck at for the last 8 years?

Trump has already done more to restore prosperity to the average worker than Obama managed in 8 years.

Trump isn't even in office yet.

Interesting stuff.

I was being facetious.

What has Trump done for the prosperity of workers, could you elaborate.

I think the auto industry and workers think he did quite a lot by saving their industry.

The middle classes slide into poverty did not start with Trump, it has been declining since Reagan.

LOL! Let's see....... corporations provide jobs, WOW imagine that.

Clintons provided no jobs and raked in millions from a money-laundering "foundation".....even kept big $$$$$ from the Haiti hurricane relief "fund". No way they were going to settle for public servant salaries.

thats a different topic though. ALl im talking about here is that trump won with half the money of hillary and the gop won with 3/4 the money of the dems.

Our friends on the left don't really want money out of politics. They just don't want the Republicans to be able to raise and spend money on politics. They gripe about Corporations spending money on politics, but they don't say boo about Unions.

Liberals are unprincipled scum and should be exterminated right along with muslimes.

Have you taken note that the majority of those appointees are not career politicians....individuals that have real private sector wisdom....not some community organizer that has never preformed any worth while work in the real world. The only people with political experience are those who have experience in getting things accomplished in DC....not the one's who get elected to get wealthy off lobby money.

Drain the Swamp starts with hiring people with private sector wisdom.....the actual place where the lack of experience from career politicians makes the rubber hit the highway with failure after failure resulting in a 20 trillion dollar credit card bill and nothing much to show for the cost.

Who better to keep an eye a corporation and its unethical lobby than a person who has actually worked within that organization and knows all the tricks of the trade as compared to some left wing politician that can be bribed with a promise of future campaign donations.

Unions have how much money compared to corps?

Yeah, the last "real private sector wisdom" President we had was Herbert Hoover, how did that one work out?

Business and Government are two separate entities, and require two distinct knowledge bases, assuming an individual is successful in one doesn't mean they will be the same in the other
