Anyone who advocates or encourages or exhorts people to treat one another with DECENCY becomes the object of their knee-jerk ire, scorn and ridicule.

Because if everyone began treating one another with decency, it might diminish in their minds, the need for owning guns and the possibility of maybe getting to use them on someone someday.
