The only person on here that has any idea about data networking apart from me is Damocles. I passed CCNP a few years back but it has lapsed now.No not really as you are mostly spouting bollocks. You have absolutely no idea what they were targeting. They may have had an inkling what the internal IP addressing scheme is and whether they are implementing NAT/PAT address translation assuming they are using IPv4 addressing.
Many modern networks obviate the need to use Layer 3 addressing to switch packets altogether by implementing a protocol like MPLS at the core layer which uses multi protocol label switching to switch traffic more efficiently rather than IP addresses to the various VLANs. This protocol is often referred to as layer 2.5 in the ISO seven layer network model. Oh and don't even get me started on Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF).
