Conservatives just can't get over the fact that Clinton won the popular vote,

Leaving aside that we had leading Democrats fighting to claim there was no bubble and Freddie and Fannie didn't need to be looked into you also had the head of the Fed claiming there was no bubble. So what was Bush to do to lessen the impact? This isn't a question to absolve him of responsibility but one to ask what were the levers you saw as available at the time.

He barely used the bully pulpit. He had a hands-off approach to regulation - which led to the lax standards on lending. He never really tried to work w/ Congress on a solution. His own admin was fiscally irresponsible. And worst of all - he actively pushed for more home ownership, particularly in minority communities.

Let's not keep pretending this was the innocent bystander Presidency. If Bush understood the gravity of the thread, he could have done a LOT more. But he was also happy to reap the benefits to the economy - the housing bubble essentially propped it up the whole time he was in office.

Look at Barney Frank and his defense of Frannie and Freddie when the gov't wanted to regulate them more.

Bush wasn't an innocent bystander but when Ben Bernanke says there is no bubble you think he's going to jawbone the Fed into raising rates?

Not at all, never did, as I said, I'd give it another two to three elections to see if a trend is developing, rather, just commenting on the right's refusal to accept the fact that the Donald is not a consensus President, and that their attempts to try to make him one are inane
It has put a stop to Cultural Marxism, but we can all see the troops regrouping.

I heard this the other day and was only half listening, so I cant' provide any "proof", but this is pretty self-evident. One of the world series played in the early '60s went 7 games. It was by all accounts a very exciting fall classic, as the lead went back and forth several times. In the end, the Yankees pulled it out but interestingly enough, SCORED LESS RUNS THAN THEIR OPPONENTS(Cardinals? I don't recall. Irrelevant). How could they have possibly pulled this off? Simply put, they won more games. It's the way Trump won the EC. You may think it's apples and oranges, but the process is over. If you don't like it I would suggest you ALL move to the blue states where people are already saying they will actively oppose all of Trump's policies, nothing will change for any of you. I think it is really you hillbots who can't get past this. If it's any consolation, I seriously doubt HRC is losing any sleep over this, I still think she ran only to stay out of jail.

Good point. It was Yankees-Pirates in 1960 by the way. The Yankees won one game 12-0 and another 10-0 but lost the series.

This is governance, moron, not some game. The support of the people for their leaders is important and Trump doesn't have it. And the way he's already proceeding, it will fade even more very quickly.

Based on the results of the election, seems Hillary won't get a chance to try. That means Trump is one step closer than the cunt ever will be.
