Wouldn't real nationalists be a unifying factor, bringing together everyone in our nation? All I ever see so-called "nationalists" do is divide a part of the country they consider to be the "real" country against everyone else. This divisive "nationalism" is a dangerous ideology. In the 19th century, nationalism was a unifying ideology, since then all it has ever done is divide humans against one another.
 
Nationalism is usually ethnic based. Since the US is an amalgamation of nationalities and has no real ethnicity, white nationalists seize upon all whites as their ethnic base. It's a desperate attempt to introduce the policies of the ethnic nationalists in Europe into the US.

you got it backward. The majority of politics is so called "identity politics" when it comes to tribalism ( various demographic groups).
The Dem's were sucessful prior to this election telling everyone they were a victim of this -victim of that - and the Dem's feel your pain
if you join the Democratic party.

Just look at the slogans for proof:
Hillary was "Stronger Together" (and ran an identity based campaign)
Trump was MAGA -everybody work together for the greater good of the country regardles of one's demographic.

The Clinton campaign simply cannot come to terms with the fact they did not speak to the nation as a whole;
so they are fielding this meme that white supremecists/nationalists ( with the emphasis on race) being the reason they lost.
