It will be here in two years. The tech is all there, for the device to be linked wirelessly to a desktop CPU with much more processing power.

The robot body is a easy tech milestone as well, with the exception of the power supply. The thing will need to spend 50 minutes out of every hour plugged into a wall socket to remain viable. Even then, the "Breath" system will put off far more waste heat than any real human would ever make.

Main movement Servo longevity is another issue, early models will have very high maintenance costs.

But balance, fine and coarse movement, accurate weight, appearance, and tactal are all easily within current tech.

But, a full up robot simulation will run about $25K.

Also, Visual accuity will limit fine motor interaction with objects smaller than a tennis ball.

I've worked in robots and sensor for 30 years now. This technology is coming, with all of its worts and worries.

The first units made will not be made as sex toys, but as body double stand-ins for luring out assassination attempts.

Minus some occasional trolling, you and I don't have a history of histrionics with one another. The context of you and Darla is such that it's really no surprise that she would say that to you, or that you would say outrageous things to her in kind. Doesn't make it acceptable, but you should probably learn to draw lines as to what you will say to certain posters, but not to others.
