So, after just a couple of weeks, Trump has already walked back campaign rhetoric and promises on the following:

- Obamacare
- Global warming
- Prosecuting Hillary
- Draining the swamp
- Building the wall (maybe a fence now?)
- Immigration enforcement
- Ban on Muslims

And let's not forget all of that talk of rigged elections. And let's also not forget how much he has reversed his positions over the past 10-15 years.

This has easily set a record for immediacy & breadth in terms of walking back promises with the explanation of "oh, that was just stuff you say in a campaign."

Just checking w/ the righties: do you realize you've been conned yet? Let's keep checking in on that one. You will, if you don't already.

The rigged elections was a real howler. Election morning he was still screaming "rigged" about Nevada. How quickly that worm turned.

does it matter if Obamacare is repealed or amended? no as long as the final draft is good.

Climate change? no, as long as we do it without economically disadvantaging ourselves.

"Muslim ban" never was - but increased vetting for Syrian refugees is still the goal,not following the UN guideline for 65k this year Hillary wanted

Fence/wall -does it matter as long as we get solid border control, and deport criminal illegals?

Drain the Swamp? 5 year ban on a revolving door is a good start/lifetime ban on lobbying for foreign govt's

add in needed tax reform, and that is a solid agenda

Then talk about these things that way in the campaign.

Don't call global warming a complete hoax and say that Hillary's emails are worse than Watergate. I'm amazed at how accepting some are of the idea that he was just jacking it up because it was a campaign.

in some ways her emils are worse then watergate-especially with the Clinton foundation.
It shows her corruption and complete disregard for the law. She's damn lucky she really isn't prosecuted for gross negligence..

GLobal warming -maybe he got some new info. recall he's never been in gov't before -he ran the campaign literally by himself.

Quit the picayune quibbliing (not you -Republicans) over semantics/degree of ideas.

about the closest I've come to is saying the Dems need to decide to go more to the Bernie wing,or back to the center.
Which is an obvious choice of paths -but I'm not telling them what to do

Trumps 'wall' can't possibly be anything other than cement and stone.....

I don't think they were duped. They knew he was lying about all of it, and they didn't care.

The truth is, he doesn't represent the majority of the country. This was the Dems' election to lose, and they did a splendid job. I hope they learned that you just don't get to cram your cherry picked politician down the throats of the public, especially when they made it obvious that they wanted an inferior candidate to head the ticket.

In another ironic twist, Republicans are probably going to adopt super delegates to make sure another Trump never happens.
 
Add to his lies the claim that he'll cut Fed funding to any city who doesn't arrest illegals. The SC ruled on the Medicaid expansion, citing the illegal aspect of forcing states to comply via cuts to funding.

I don't think that is his ( at least current) position.
It's more about sanctuary cities shielding detainers from ICE requests. That has to stop.

I'm also not sure if the Medicade exemption applies to fed'l funding on sanct cities.
That was essentially an opt-out. Immigration cooperation with ICE isn't an opt out -it's a violation of fed'l law.

ICE/feds cannot force locals to do their work for them -they can force compliance with existing fed'l laws

i think a movie that includes a dream team should be preferred to an unscripted and unrehearsed, reality show that merely appeals to the masses and potentially, the Circus.

Works for me. I love watching movies, but I can't stand wreality tv. I'll watch a few minutes of Top Chef or Bar Rescue, but, that's about all I can take.
