The issue of hindsight bias and fooling ourselves about what we think knew a priori haunts investors constantly. We are reminded of this by those who claim they saw the financial meltdown coming. Despite the lack of proof, they remain convinced they knew what was about to happen all along. These folks are fooling themselves. Due to several cognitive features of the human brain they are convinced of this and other untrue things. Of course, everyone knew Apple was going to be huge, too. Or Amazon or Google or Facebook. This is a feature, not a bug. Your brain seeks to make sense of a world filled with random events.
 
You could easily tell by turnout to the rallies alone. The media is crooked as HIllary. Lying to us this whole time.
 
I don't think people knew it before the election but they do now. All those media polls were obvious lies to convince the public to give up on trump.

I admit I'm one of them....I predicted Trump would a memory by Dec. 2014 and never imagined Pa. would go to Trump....not in a million years....

so my days of making predictions are over.....
 
I certainly didn't know, all I could do was vote and hope. I kept realclearpolitics up on one of my monitors while I did other stuff on the computer and would glance at it once in a while. As the evening went on things really went well.

According to one NYT article the day of the election they had hillary do some radio shows in NC for black audiences and the day prior had obama and the rest go to Michigan.

Nobody saw Wisconsin coming. But Hillary and her staff definetly had internal polls showing the rest.
