I'm Getting Nervous About All These Calls for Trump to Unify with the Losers

RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm getting nervous. I am already getting nervous. I know it's early. I'm not getting nervous because of anything I've heard President-Elect Trump say. I'm getting nervous because of things I'm hearing other people say, things totally unnecessary. And I want to take some time today to try to explain why I'm nervous and destroy some myths that seem to always pop up after elections about unity and crossing the aisle and working together and almost apologizing for winning.

At the end of the day we're all Americans and inevitably you have millions of people pissed off after an election. While rubbing the losers face in the mud might feel good it's not good for the country.
 
im ok with it. If we do our job right and return prosperity we will keep power for decades. Rust belt including illinois and minessota will go our way next time. time to be a little nice.

Couldn't disagree more. We DO need to work together. My friends and family are libs. We have to work together, unless you are down for deporting 50% of the country, or starting a bloody civil war.

Doesn't mean we have to kiss ass or give ground. But we do need to come together.
 
The fact of the matter is he didn't win the popular vote and there were a lot of people questioning if he could be "Presidential". If he came out right after winning the election talking trash that would reinforce every fear people had of him. So acting magnanimous is a smart move by him, not to mention the right thing to do.

Exactly.

That said, it may be up to the rank and file to stay engaged and keep Trump in line. It would be a mistake to lose sight of the fact he's not a true conservative. If he gets out of line we need to make enough noise to remind Trump who put him in the WH.

Make The Donald our puppet. Make him a people's president.

Agreed. I just don't want the winning side to be trying to find ways to work with the losers. Losers have loser ideas. Really it's a "Come work with us, or get out of the way" scenario.
