Repeal and replace Obamacare. This has to be one of the first, and the most important, things that republicans work on. With confirming a constitutionalist to the SCOTUS....

I believe that this is actually the one promise they will fulfill.

I'm curious, though - what do you (and others) think it will be replaced with? When Trump was asked during the campaign, he only promised that it would be "universal healthcare." When the interviewer asked him who would pay for that, he replied that the government would.

100 judges in 100 days, Democrats can now thank Harry Reid and the nuclear option for a majority rule Senate.

Trump can only propose legislation and/or sign it into law so congress will play a part in repeal/replace.

It's anyone's guess with what, but the current system is 'crazy' as Bill Clinton said.

Have you heard or read anyone talking about what it might be?

I'm not being snarky. I'm curious, because no matter who is talking about it, they always talk about replacing it, too. I sincerely hope the plan isn't to take away coverage from millions without a plan for them, but I'd be really curious to see what about a new plan for universal healthcare would be different in terms of costs and how they pay for it.

Repealing yes but wouldn't replacing it imply a new federal program? Shouldn't it just simply be repealed and then get rid of any regulations that limit choice and competition state by state?

Yes it should be repealed and replaced with Medicare.
There is no reason that 1/3 of every healthcare dollar should go to Wall Street profiteers.

It needs to be universal -real UNIVERSAL health care. The only way I see that happening is Single Pay

I just don't believe that the federal government has, or should have, that kind of power and authority without a constructional amendment granting it that sort of power.

You can have "universal healthcare" without the government paying the bill. You see, you operate from the premise that healthcare should be paid for by someone else.

This is what I see as a viable, free market plan that would reduce costs and make healthcare accessible to EVERY American

1) Repeal every aspect of Obamacare
2) Eliminate employer based health insurance
3) Sell medical insurance like we sell auto insurance where you can buy across state lines eliminating monopolies and driving down costs
4) Make medical insurance like your home owners insurance. Insure against catastrophic events and pay cash for everything else. Stop insuring things like lab test, drugs, routine doctor appointments etc.

Costs will be reduced and access will be increased.

Why get rid of employee based health insurance?

Won't that be a switch...

That is what we wanted in the first place...

The gop & much of the dem corp parties adamantly opposed it..

Cutting out all these middle men would be vast improvement & we can have them go pick our crops & work on the wall & take those other jobs all the illegals will be leaving :D Full employment...

Why get rid of employee based health insurance?

It drives up costs and ties people to their jobs. Employer based medical insurance only came about because of the tax code and should be eliminated. During the 1950s when the marginal top tax rate was so high, many employees didn't want pay raises due to worries over being thrown into a higher tax bracket. To get around it, employers started paying their medical insurance. It was a tax free raise. Then the employers turned around and lobbied the government to allow them to write it off as an expense.

There is one good thing about Obamacare and that is the notion of high deductible plans that cause people to pay cash. This will lower prices
