I didn't get much sleep last night.

About 11:30 est I said "Whelp....looks like Trump is going to win...I'm going to bed.".

Then when my wife, a Hillary supporter, realized Clinton would lose she proceeded to have an epic meltdown. Between that and my neighbors in our condominium complex who were Clinton supporters either jumping off their balconies or heads exploding I didn't get any sleep till about 4 this morning.

Man I'm tired.

I wish there to see that. LOL So you live next door to Desh?

funny Mott! as much as I am SO GLAD to see e Clinton Inc. shut down, it is very emotional for those invested in campaigns.
And this one was high drama.. I do feel for the true believers.

Not a chance. Democrats HAVE to see this as a real opportunity. It's as clear as it can be - it's time to break w/ the past. They need some youth & actual progressivism.
I think they need to moderate that progressivism.. not all of it. Single Pay is still the stellar idea. but they can stuff that regulatory state.

Remember it was the awfulness of GWB that allowed Obama to get elected.

Trump is a weak and wounded president who did not win the popular vote.

SCOTUS, House, Senate day one, buckle up pal the 1st hundred days are going to be a wild ride, yuuuge!

Who knows. That's why I'm in "wait and see" mode. We just saw a major American political party make a gigantic change in it's political coalition. That cannot help but impact the future Democratic coalition and that may not be what anyone envisions it to be. Right now this is what the two major party coalitions appear to me to be.

Republicans - Business elites and white working class nationalist.
Democrats - Professional elites and diversity.

Can this new Republican coalition exist as two major polities with radically different agendas? I doubt it. Then you have to ask, how will this affect the current Democrat coalition? Hell if I know. I just know that it will.

Yea and he could implement trade deals and infrastructure project that help working class people and the Dems could re-nominate Hillary or some other old time party hack who doesn't stand a chance.

I felt that way about Dumbya in 2004 and had a rude surprise in store for me.

Have you seen his economic proposals?

He has all the keys to the kingdom with both the House and Senate. If enacted, his polices could lead to disaster real fast.
I guess I have faith in our institutions. They are far more important to me than the temporary office holders who lead them. As long as the U.S. respects and maintains our institutions, both civil and private, then Trump can only do so much damage, which granted, could be considerable.

I'm not about the sell Trump short now after how he has outmaneuvered this nations political establishment (of both parties) to win the Presidency. I'm in wait and see mode. I'm hoping that worst case scenario he gives me a lot to laugh about. I shouldn't make any more predictions but I just have this feeling he's not going to be as god awful bad as W was. Particularly if he learns when to shut the hell up.

I guess my humor comes from the fact that I'm just not that invested in this political cycle and I have great good faith in the people of this nation. Sometimes we get it wrong and as the Euros say....We usually end up getting it right after we've tried everything else. :)

Do you or any of your neighbors need help packing for Cuba? :rofl2:

.. and I suggest that you hang onto to that duty real tight brother. :0)

There may be a depression in our near future.

:rofl2: Yep; Liberals will be fear mongering for the next eight years regardless of how well everyone else will be doing. But you hang onto that bro; it's all you got! :rofl2:

People are reading way to much into the "shifting political tide" and all that.

Trump spent the entire last week talking about indictments, having a President under constant investigation & a constitutional crisis. And I think people bought that. And he beat a candidate with that much baggage by some pretty thin margins, and lost the popular vote.

Wrong; what Democrats need is a major enema that might unclog that blockage between their ears. :rofl2:
