I HATE "liberal" culture and the PC movement. I hate the establishment, I hate the media lies. They've been doing it forever now. They LIED during zimmerman, splicing his audio to create a narrative. They LIED during the mike brown case. THEY FUCKING LIE. A CNN talking head fed questions to Clinton for the debate. Politico often sent articles to the clinton camp to pre-approve. Clinton flipped the fuck out when matt lauer asked her a question that he wasn't supposed to and she wanted him fired. The clinton campaign would routinely threaten to get people fired from news outlets that spoke out against her. It's fucking propaganda.

I wont defend him on private prisons. I wont defend him on wanting to execute snowden, who is a personal hero of mine. I wont defend him on denying global climate change. I wont defend him on "banning muslims" (though I dont think that will happen anyway). I wont defend him on not ending the drug war. I want defend him being against net neutrality and internet privacy rights, or supporting the NSA. These are very dear issues to my heart.

Fair enough. But trust me, that jubilant feeling about Hillary being gone only lasts a few weeks. To me, she & Bill are already yesterday's news. Since I'll never agree w/ the current GOP or the Trump version of the GOP, I'm somewhat excited today about the possibility of the Democrats reinventing themselves, as hopefully a more progressive party that incorporates some of Bernie's ideals w/ a dose of pragmatism & fiscal responsibility. Might be a longshot, but at least they have the opportunity to start w /something brand new.
And I'm not saying that as a rationale. Make no mistake - I'm down today. Today is a drag. But Hillary would have likely brought the Democrats down further, ultimately. They would have lost more seats in 2 years if she won, and she'd probably get trounced in 4 years.
You're with the Trumpers, whether you like it or not. I don't think it matters that someone was merely anti-Hillary. It's interesting to see - even on this board - how many are trying to distance themselves from actually supporting Trump today compared to yesterday.
I like bernie. I don't agree with everything, But honesty goes a long way with me. If democrats become honest and have real heart, I at the very least wont be filled with disgust.

your black and white thinking though is what cost you this election, in part. It's not as simple as left vs. right anymore. There are republicans against trump, because they are globalist war profiteers. There likely were some progressive bernie voters that voted trump. It's much more about class, populism, globalism vs. nationalism, and elites vs. non-elites than liberal vs. conservative. We are talking about a massive electoral/philosophical shift.
Trump killed the republican party. Trump had a gay man give a keynote address at his convention and he got 86% of evangelicals to vote for him anyway.
There will be conservatives that support nafta and those against. There will be liberals both for and against TPP, as well as republicans. It's not so clean cut anymore. This is the first thing you have to learn. You can't put people in a box. Life isn't that simple. So keep trying to say everyone is x or y, but in doing so, you miss out on the broader picture.

Believe it or not, I "get" the movement - or at least as much as someone on the outside of it CAN get it. I understand that it isn't a left/right thing anymore.
I just wish, very sincerely, that the vehicle for that movement had been just about anyone else. I'd be more excited about the possibilities today. Trump as our President is a very hard thing to take, at least for me. It's a low point for America, movement aside.
