Forget about policies and stuff for a moment. Think in terms of coalition building. Trump reached accross the party to get a vp from the cruz/huckabee wing of the party which let them forgive grabbing by the pussy and other scandals. While Clinton picked another corporate centrist in Kaine which meant the base was less inclined to forgive her for the screw bernie emails.

The evangelicals put Trump over the top in key states but Pa and Wisconson was all average working class Americans.
Yes I am in contact with some evangelical forums and it is a coalition. Without the jesus freaks we would never have gotten the base out in the middle and south. Without the nationalists you dont get the rust belt and swing states. It was truly a coalition.
Democrats should learn something from this.
