Middle Class moving out of California

Harris or Sanchez? Pick your poison. Harris will win but I won't for either.

Edit: Who do you get the pleasure of choosing between?

I won't give away where I live :)

So you don't really have a lot of things to vote for this year. Might as well stay home

I have about 25 City propositions and 15 to 20 state propositions to vote on. On those my vote does count and I will not stay home.

When a Republican gets elected in Maryland, I think "Great, that's another 4 years that the MARC and MATA get no money, and projects that we've invested billions in get cancelled so that he can make a show of his conservative credentials, my commutes going to be even shittier". I could care less about paying 1%-2% extra taxes, idiots living in Virginia where it's much more conservative have to drive to work every day and it takes them much longer even though they live much closer. Because they're unwilling to invest in infrastructure to save a couple of percentage points on taxes. One elected Republican can destroy decades of progress. They are like an all consuming virus and parasite on the body politic.
it's more then 1-2% and there were the new taxes. The "rain tax"and the "flush tax" come to mind.
Apparently you are wealthy enough it's not a bother for you. congrats.

I think I mentioned this to you before, I have a high school buddy who's on the Montgomery County Council in MD. He's ALWAYS posting about the purple line and other public transportation issues. He's a great guy but definitely a SJW progressive.

hey it's nice to be that close to the DC subway, and be able to take advantage of line extensions.
But not all of MD is like that.
Baltimore requires YUGE amounts of funding to keep it running, and the state has a wonderful welfare system

But for peeps who work and aren't wealthy and can't take advantage of mass transportation -the place is too costly

The problem is the cost of housing (at least in LA). I have a nephew makes 80K a year in LA, he pays $1,300. a month for a Studio. Part of the problem with that is domestic and overseas investment in real estate driving up the cost of housing. That something that can be fixed.

Yes, people are just dying to move to Stockton, Modesto and Tracy. Your lack of understanding of human desire once again doesn't disappoint.

And we implement anti development policies and environmental laws that turn away manufacturing yet you blame caoitalism for the inequality in our state. Brilliant
I see. So there are only 3 choices in California? Are they dying to move to Arizona?

Adults have the ability to weigh 'desire' against 'reality'. Children do not. You're complaining because a clean environment trumps your need to make a living as an offshoot of the real estate market. Perhaps you just need to make better decisions in life? Isn't that the Republican mantra?

Nobody is being forced to leave California. They're being forced to either cut overhead, or find a new job.

You don't disappoint again Shaman

It's a gift!

Nothing new here but more evidence of this state becoming a home to the rich and poor only as middle class folks are forced to leave.

Just saw this today.

[h=1]Sold: San Francisco's most expensive home[/h]The buyer of San Francisco's most expensive home was Kyle Vogt, cofounder of Twitch and Cruise Automation, according to OpenHouse.

Vogt bought the house for $21.8 million, according to Redfin, which makes it the biggest sale in the city so far this year. The home was originally listed for $28 million in November 2015, but the price was chopped by $3 million in June. It was San Francisco's most expensive listed home at the time of the sale.

I'm not kidding you, that home is one block down and two blocks over from me. Such is City living that you can have a nobody like me live that close to the most expensive home (this year) in the most expensive City in the country.

It's absolutely beautiful but $21 million? Unbelievable!

Your neighborhood's probably not too shabby either. :)

I have no idea if it is your attempt to be so partisan that just basic things bypass you.

Many/Most people, if given a choice, don't want to live in central California cities. Not much in terms of jobs, culture or weather. The "American Dream" is to own a home and some people are willing to commute 1 1/2 to 2 hours each way to their work to do so but many aren't.

So therefore people who live here and commute an hour or more just to rent an apartment and see their friends in other states being able to buy a home making the same amount of money decide to leave. It's not a difficult concept to understand.

Costal California is becoming a state for the rich and poor with many middle class forced out.

I truly live in a bubble. Pelosi lives eight blocks from me and DiFi about ten. Within less than a half mile radius of me I can't count the number of times both Clintons, Obama, Elizabeth Warren etc. have been here for fund raisers.

And when I picture a $21 million home I'm thinking a massive mansion on acres of property etc. I mean this is a big home, don't get me wrong, but just passing it on the street it's not something that blows you away or makes you stop.

Again, this is living in a bubble.

80% of the economy is the tertiary sector, half of China's economy is tertiary now too. No one is bringing back manufacturing. Cry me a river, get a fucking education.

Do you think there is no effect in bringing back a fully automated factory from china?

People who brag about having an education yet think that the factory only provides jobs for the factory itself need to stop voting.

Sorry to break it to you but your Trump vision of going to back an economy of the '50's and '60's isn't happening.
