perhaps......here in Michigan it says "If you vote straight ticket do not vote for anyone else on this page. Turn to Page 2 for non-party ballots."

I think that any American who calls him or herself a Christian comes in for the hostility very-well-earned by the vicious (and actually anti-Christian) mob who call themselves fundamentalists and have never read the New Testament. Most of what Jesus is recorded as saying is intensely admirable. The difficulty is that in his time it was taken for granted that there was a God, or gods , whereas nowadays very much suggests otherwise. I think we should take what we can take out of the past, and try to translate it into our world as best we can.

I agree that more Christians should do a better job of being good Christians and not just talk about it, and I also agree that it's unfortunate that God is diminishing so much in our modern society. I definitely think that it's more than possible to be a modern person but also a good Christian.

absolutely, but in my personal opinion those good thoughts and good feelings and good actions that come from our hearts are placed there by God even if you don't know it or believe it.
