Why are white, uneducated voters voting for Trump?

Wait, so your claim is that the educated are stupider than the uneducated?

"I seen"?
What are you, stupid, uneducated or both?

Intelligence and educated are two completely different issues....

Quite a few people in this country are educated and are still extremely stupid. They either cannot or refuse to think for themselves or analyze facts and issues to arrive at logical and obvious conclusions....they are incapable of common reasoning or of using reason in an orderly cogent fashion...many deny reality that is obvious to most others.

Its proven here on JPP on a daily basis.....and you know who you are.

Replies to my post will illustrate my claim....

You're doing the Lord's work.

Replies to my post will illustrate that I'm one of the willfully ignorant....

I concur

I think saying they are stupid is probably not the best choice of words...

I do agree that some ppl, to many ppl come to conclusions poorly or perhaps not @ all, they are told what to think & they stick w/ it, regardless of how wrong they are.......

While many ppl that support trump maybe not have as much education as many supporters of hillary~johnson or Stein, I don't think that is necessarily the reason they wholeheartedly support him..........

IMHO they are pissed & feel the current political system has done them wrong, is not looking out for their interests & I would pretty much agree.......

Political Immunization and Political Confessionalism: The United States and Weimar Germany
Walter Dean Burnham
The Journal of Interdisciplinary History
Vol. 3, No. 1 (Summer, 1972), pp. 1-30

Excerpt: “The lower middle class, the small manufacturer, the shopkeeper, the artisan, the peasant – all these fight against the bourgeoisie, to save from extinction their existence as fractions of the middle class. They are therefore not revolutionary but conservative. Nay, more, they are reactionary, for they try to roll back the wheel of history.”

In more neutral language, it can be said of such strata that they are less actors than acted upon by social transformations which threaten without enlightening them; that they are dependent, vulnerable and politically reactive under stress. Lacking a pre-existing political church which explains their plight to them, their instinctive response to dangerously stressful social change is to support those candidates and movements who can most effectively promise them that such change will be stopped.

… The fascist movement corresponds to the political church which emerges to embrace these strata as a refuge. The key activating element appears to be multidimensional stress closely associated with a loss of consensus concerning the legitimacy of existing political structures and their elites. l

Last Economic Snapshot Before the Election Shows Healthy Job Growth

By PATRICIA COHEN NOV. 4, 2016

The official unemployment rate dropped to 4.9 percent, from 5 percent. And average hourly earnings rose 2.8 percent year over year, a level not reached since 2008.
“It was pretty positive across the board,” said David Berson, chief economist at Nationwide Insurance, adding that “most importantly, we got a nice jump in average hourly earnings and that actually corresponds with other data.”

Trump has to pretend it's bad news, though. Sad.

"Donald Trump’s campaign on Friday called the jobs report “disastrous” — as some users on Twitter conveyed to him a different message."

Counting ALL the people out of work, whether looking or not looking, makes the unemployment rate 9.5%.....try again....

idiot. can you do nothing but troll me?

If I must clarify : stupidity is not limited to educated or uneducated.
Being an educated person doesn't make one wise-nor does uneducated make one stupid.

It's a false dichotomy. Do I need to explain it further?

Well put Anatta, well put......

I don't know about your education, and don't want to know, but you certainly are intelligent.

I said we've never had a downturn? "you guys"?

So you don't want to state an actual position. It's like talking to Desh or "you guys".
Yea...aren't you a conservative? I've stated my position. You've backed yourself into a corner, and you're dancing ever more feverishly in an attempt to get out of this discussion.

Yes....you cited the U.S as a country who has not had an economic downturn after app. 1 decade. Did the baby grab your phone and post as you?

You haven't been paying attention.
There are plenty of studies that show conservatives have primitive reasoning skills compared to liberals.
I think that stems from the fact that Republicans realized a long time ago that they don't represent the majority in this country. So...similar to Obama's comments about 'guns/religion', the Republicans place their flag firmly in the pro life/cut taxes/buy guns camp.

They attract religious nut jobs, and those who are very poor at math.
And a whole lotta inbreds.

Not exactly MENSA material. The pro life crowd tends to rely on faith over facts. The cut taxes crowd still believes that tax cuts for top earners magically create jobs. The buy guns camp....well, I think Larry The Cable Guy illustrates that mentality.

Jonathan Gruber became infamous for asserting that the American people were too stupid to figure out the hidden costs in Obamacare.

Who were the stupid ones lol? It wasn't the prolife or Tea Party crowd.

Also, there are no shortage of under educated democrat voters. In fact, 'low information voter' was coined to describe them.

You stupid sorry fucktard.
Fedco ends up paying either way and preventative care is a lot cheaper than emergency room care.
Talk about uninformed

Samuel Popkin disagrees.

Nice that you think people voted for Obamacare.

Is it really necessary to lace your posts with expletives directed at other people?

I work in healthcare so I know a thing or two about it. The OP is about white uneducated voters pulling for Trump. And I pointed out that that demographic didn't fall for the lies that got Obamacare passed.

I'll tell you what I'm seeing. I'm seeing doctors getting reimbursed less. A fair number of them are saying 'screw it' and becoming employees of the hospital to help manage their costs. And when that happens, they only work enough to meet the requirements for their salary. If that trend continues, it's going to translate into longer wait times for consumers.

I see insurance premiums and co-pays going up for people. A high co-pay means people will put off getting into the system because they can't afford the co-pay. So we're kind of back where we started. In fact, people who have health insurance are just as late getting medical attention as people without it in many instances.

Obamacare was an ill-conceived law. They should junk it and start over while there's still time.
