Deplorables share fake image of undocumented immigrant voting, scream voter fraud

An image is circulating around the internet depicting a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent arresting an alleged undocumented immigrant in the back of a voter line. In one scary tweet originating from a supporter of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, the individual said that ICE agents are monitoring polling sites. In reality, both the photo and the tweet itself are fake.

Intended to scare Latino voters from going to the voting booth, the image in the tweet is actually two separate photos stitched together to concoct a completely false story. One photo, used widely by other media outlets like the Wall Street Journal, is from a primary voting location in Arizona from March. The other photo can be found on Wikimedia Commons, according to ProPublica and Univision, which first reported the image composite.

Supporters of Donald Trump have been tweeting the photoshopped image at several Spanish-language media outlets, hoping to rile up readers and dissuade them from voting on Election Day.

For months now, Trump has claimed the election is rigged against him and that some people — especially undocumented immigrants — would commit voter fraud at the behest of Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party. There have been almost no cases of voter impersonation since 2000, and allegations of mass “vote flipping”—where machines “flip” a vote to another candidate unintended by the voter—have also turned out to be false. In the most recent instance of proven voter fraud, it’s a passionate Trump supporter who was caught voting twice for the Republican candidate.

i'd like to think these stunts backfire.
I'd be pissed if I saw cops dragging anyone out of voting lines.

Except for the facts....

First, it was reported that a Republican candidate running in Chicago, Illinois tried to vote for himself… Only to have the electronic Diebold voting machine cast a vote for his opponent. Unlike paper ballots, computers are only as good as the programmers setting up software, and are always open to the possibility of hackers.

Now, there is more confirmation that Democrats are working with local, partisan board of election bureaucrats to rig machines in the same way. In Maryland, where far-left Gov. Martin O’Malley – a Presidential hopeful – is in charge, it has been comfirmed by experts that Democrats are getting a little extra “help” in the midterm elections:

Voting machines that switch Republican votes to Democrats are being reported in Maryland.

Texas voters say votes changed, officials blame user error

A rash of reports are emerging on social media from Texas residents who claim machines have switched their votes from Donald Trump to Hillary Clinton – though local officials are pushing back and saying many of these incidents are due to human error.

Early voting began Monday in the Lone Star State, and almost immediately reports began trickling in of votes being changed. The controversy began when Lisa Houlette, a Texas resident in Randall County, posted her story on Facebook.

========================
"If you were actually trying to rig an election, it would be a very stupid thing to do, to let the voter know that you were doing it," says Larry Norden, with the Brennan Center for Justice in New York.

He notes that one reason voters are so concerned about vote flipping is that they see it happen right in front of them on the voting machine screen. They press A and B lights up. "I do think if somebody was hacking into a machine they wouldn't do this, to kind of notify the voter that the machine wasn't working," he says.

Whats even more bizarre is that the votes never change from Democrat to Republican,

they only change from Republican to Democrat.......pretty astounding to say the least.....

US election 2012: voting machine 'changes vote for Barack Obama to Mitt Romney'

A
n electronic voting machine was taken out of service on Tuesday after being captured on video changing a vote for President Barack Obama into one for Mitt Romney.

The footage showed a voter in a polling booth repeatedly attempting to cast his ballot for Mr Obama, only to find the machine ticked Mr Romney's name.

Baffled by the result, the unnamed voter alerted staff at the Pennsylvania voting station to the problem before recording what was happening. He later posted the video on YouTube.

He said: "I initially selected Obama but Romney was highlighted. I assumed it (the machine) was being picky so I deselected Romney and tried Obama again, this time more carefully, and still got Romney.

"Being a software developer, I immediately went into troubleshoot mode. I then called over a volunteer to have a look at it. She said 'it's nothing to worry about, everything will be OK,' and went back to what she was doing."
