Sometimes facts are facts.

I've watched that thing for years. Never seen someone get booed like Trump. The people around him looked like it was the most awkward situation they've ever been in.

He had one really funny line. Hillary had a few more. As most have said, Hillary got too political also - but really, nothing like Trump. He bombed.

He had a couple of good lines. Some others that would have been funny, had he spent two minutes preparing.

His inability to read made his entire performance very awkward. Couple that with the faces of the two guys behind him once his material went south, and you have a night that he'd like to have back.

They also dont consider who tha audience was :) Full of big donors. The speech was for the consumption of tv and the internet not the room.

Dude, Trump was terrible. Even conservatives on Fox were cringing. Hillary wasn't great by any means, but Trump created the most awkward situation that this event has ever seen, literally.

Some of his slams on Hillary didn't even have a punchline; he spoke like he was at a rally & just attacking her. He was bad.
 
I should add, it hardly matters. This wasn't a debate; whoever does "better" at the Al Smith dinner has no consequence whatsoever on the election.

So, there really is no need to be in full-blown Trump apologist mode. Just admit that he was awful & move on.
