Not really. When you think about it, this is the way they all happen. One person breaks silence and then others in the same boat feel empowered to do so.

Cases in point: Bill Clinton, Bill Cosby, Roger Ailes, Jerry Sandusky, Jimmy Savile and the Catholic Church.

We have had many cases where loonys and assorted fruitcakes have come out of the woodwork claiming all sorts of diabolical things only to be proved to be complete liars and attention seekers. There is a saying in the legal world 'hard cases make bad law' which applies here.

Bear in mind that the Metropolitan Police spent over £2.5 million on this investigation and considered Nick to be a credible witness. Indeed one of the politicians, Leon Brittan, died without knowing he was in the clear. Frankly that is what happens when you get people like Twatsky and Darla in positions of power.

Assuming they're automatically liars is just as bad as assuming they're automatically telling the truth IMO. They're allegations, and they deserve the chance to be proven or disproven.

Yes, but what happened over here many times was the name of the person being investigated was leaked to the media well before any charges were made. Off the top of my head there was Cliff Richard, Paul Gambaccini, Roy Harper, Jimmy Tarbuck, Jim Davidson, William Roache and Michael Le Vell. William Roache was especially shocking as he was accused of sexual assaults, some of which went back to fifty years ago.

That doesn't mean shit in the here and now. If one person who was legitimately assaulted, raped, murdered, what have you, gets tossed aside because of what OTHER people have done in the past, then the justice system fails.

People like you can point to the circumstances as "proof" they're lying just like other people here can point to the circumstances as "proof" they're telling the truth.

If someone accused jpp's Bill the boob of groping them 30 years ago, I wonder how he would prove he didnt' do it......I"m assuming Bill is an adult...but who knows.

The proof against the Clinton's for this and past crimes is rock solid for a lot of voters.....
