ITs like the Hunger Games out there...

Everyone in town has gone insane.

This is the part of Hurricanes I hate, the general public is stupid.
It looks like we are going to get a tropical storm this Thursday and Friday.

People are driving like its the end of the world, running red lights, cutting each other off.
The line at the gas station is insane.
I had to go to the hardware store for a flashlight... its a mob scene.

The building manager at my office just informed me they are closing the building Thursday and Friday.
I'm sure my Friday trial will be cancelled.

I bet it wont even rain, Ill go to the beach and watch the huge waves.

I bought some water and a few boxes of mac and cheese, I got 5 gallons of gas for the generator incase we are out of power... What else do we need?

Jarod is one day going to be one of those guys on the news who died after ignoring evacuation orders and partying on the beach.

What a way to go, but I don't ignore evacuation orders. I might not put the shutters up, but if the government tells me its not safe to stay due to a hurricane, I go.

you don't board up windows? If that thing comes at you with hurricane force
you're going to have a bunch of shattered windows, and flooded house

I'm not boarding up ( as of yet) -it's "only" going to be tropical storm, but if it gets worse I will

the worse is the power..I went shopping at Costco last week and my freezer isfull

What area are you in?

Fill your freezer with water and fill every space with something that will freeze it will last a long time. I run my generator two hours a day and if you don't open it much it keeps the food.

good tip. I do have it packed right now. It dpends on how long the power goes out.
I was switched over to Duke energy ( from Fl. Power & Light)2 years ago and they suck. Even hard windy rains cause brownouts.

I'm hoping I dodge this -I'm near SeaWorld in Orlando, but I doubt it.

You are where we are planning to go if it gets bad.

it's usually a good place.
It's why Walt Disney built here - far enough inland to buffer the worst of the winds/rains,and just far enough south we don't get hard freezes.

But they just shifted the "cone of uncertainty" a bit more west. Now Orlando is in the cone.
I'd go to the west coast instead of here if it gets bad.

I have lots of family in Tampa already harassing us to come... that's what we would do, but I still think it's going to be relatively mild.

Man do I hate putting up storm shutters.

you finally gave in huh? I hate it too. I think we're only gonna get tropical storms.
I gotta go outside and clear off the Florida porch, and make the grounds wind safe..I'll look latr at the wind speeds before I board up.

Stay safe!

We are probably only going to get a tropical storm, but a little wobble west would be a hurricane so I put up the shutters. I'm exhausted.

Keep safe

I wont be needing any care, but I do hope Trump has some good toys to hand out to my kids.

I couldn't do hurricane country, plus Florida's tropical climate in general. I'll come down for Disney World, AF training courses, conventions, etc., but, that's about it for me.

No boarding up.I don't have cement bits or anchors, or lumber for this house -it would cost a fortune to do it.

Ride the Tiger out.

Okay... this might be the end. Gov. Scott is on tv whipping it up.

Ill try to send updates from the eye of the storm.
